‘Blade II: The Return of Evil’ is Coming to Nintendo Switch

  • Progress through different regions to fight against multiple bosses.
  • Challenge yourself against endless waves of enemies to win the rarest of gears.
  • Master timing your counter attacks and dodges to beat enemies without getting hit.

In an ironic twist of fate, it is Nintendo that now stands against Sony’s prudish censorship policies with its plans to release Blade II: The Return of Evil for the Switch. Originally only available for iOS and Android mobile devices, Blade II was developed by South Korean developers Action Square.

Blade II is a hack-and-slash isometric RPG and currently has four classes, Gladiator, Assassin, Wizard, and Fighter. While both the Fighter and Gladiator are fairly standard in terms of fantasy RPG archetypes, the Wizard and Assassin are waifus of the scantily clad variety.

I could tell you the story of this fantasy game was about saving the world and becoming the savior of humanity, but that’s like saying the story of a racing game is about driving faster than other the other cars. The combat system features dodges and counter attacks, and received some praise for its responsiveness and fast pace.

There is currently no release date announced for the upcoming Switch port, so you’ll just have to wait. In the meantime, you can follow along for more updates through Facebook.

I have never heard of this game prior to this article. Thanks for the information as I am currently in the market for a switch console. Prior to this, I was on the fence.

  2. Nintendo seems to be going all in on the T&A this generation. I approve.

As for the game itself – I’m not a huge fan of these over the head looter RPGs, but I may give it a try.

Not really a game I’m interested in but I am glad to see Nintendo going back to being a platform for themselves and others instead of trying to force everyone to do what they want if they want to play in their playground. It’s what made Nintendo fantastic in the NES/SNES days and Sony great in the PS1/2 days.
