‘Bloodroots’ Releasing This Month

  • Pick it up on February 28th.
  • PC version will be on The Epic Games Store.
  • A high velocity title about revenge.

Developer Paper Cult has announced that their high velocity action title Bloodroots is expected to release on the 28th of February for $19.99. Bloodroots is scheduled to release on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via The Epic Games Store. This relentless title aims to introduce players to a western twisted revenge tale with deranged characters.

Bloodroots follows the story of Mr. Wolf, a man who has been betrayed and left for dead, and who is now set on satisfying his revenge. Despite being vastly outnumbered, Mr. Wolf is hell-bent on finding his killer, and giving him a taste of his own medicine. In Bloodroots, the world is the weapon. Players will enjoy the relentless combat that unfolds across the sprawling Weird West. The trailer shows gameplay that is insane, over-the-top, and seems to be a blast to play. Some titles provide players with a sense of satisfaction as they pull off insane maneuvers, and Bloodroots seems to capture that.

Bloodroots will have you choreograph epic and ultra-violent combos. You’ll use everything around you to murder those who stand in your way. Use hatchets, ladders, carrots, etc to brutalize your enemies. Gameplay comes down to improvisation, only your imagination can stop you from discovering and solving the mystery surrounding who tried to murder you, and why. Other features are as follows:

  • A world overflowing with makeshift weapons that not only change the way you fight, but how you get around.
  • Improvise the most deadly combos and compete for fame on worldwide leaderboards.
  • Fight your way through a variety of handcrafted levels, from forests to mountaintops.
  • Experience a twisted Western revenge tale with a deranged cast of characters.

Paper Cult is an indie videogame company based in Montreal that focuses on innovation and fast-paced action games. Founded in 2014 by long time friends Raphael Toulouse and Michael Emond, Paper Cult soon started working on their first game: Fat Mask, a local multiplayer game which released in May of 2017. Since then, new contributors have joined in and started working on the team’s new ambitious project, Bloodroots.

What are your impressions of Bloodroots? Is this a title you’re excited to pick up? The combat and graphics look fantastic, I can’t wait to see more of it.
