‘Call of Juarez: Gunslinger’ Has Been Rated for Nintendo Switch

  • Techland’s tease may finally becoming true.
  • Rated M for mature.
  • No word if prior entries will follow.

The ESRB has rated Call of Juarez: Gunslinger for Switch. Thank you to Nibel for first releasing the information. The game first released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC back in May of 2013 through Ubisoft. The publishing rights to the game were then acquired by developer Techland in April 2018. It was this time last year that there were teases of more Call of Juarez games to come and there is no better time for a remaster than now.

It wasn’t that long ago that Techland teased that something Nintendo Switch related would be revealed before the end of the year and surprise gamers. Fans have been clamoring for anything related to the franchise since Gunslinger’s 2013 release. Each entry, with exception of 2011’s Call of Juarez: The Cartel has been Western-themed, and well received from critics and gamers.

If you’re unfamiliar with Call of Juarez Gunslinger, it’s designed to be an homage to stories of the Wild West. Gunslinger will take you on an epic and violent journey about a ruthless bounty hunter who is on the trail of some of the most notorious outlaws. This adventure will have memorable encounters and show a hidden side to some of the greatest legends of the Old West.

You’ll meet some of the most legendary outlaws recorded in history. Gunslinger will introduce you to Billy the Kid, Jesse James, Pat Garrett, and more. Over the course of the game, you’ll dispense your own form of justice with weapons from this long forgotten era. Blood, bullets, and carnage will follow these all-out gun battles. You’ll need to master the art of shooting and avoiding being shot. There are specific gun-fighting skills that you’ll be able to develop, and the game provides new abilities to acquire on a consistent basis. All of this ties together to make you feel like an authentic, formidable cowboy from the Wild West.

To stay up to date with Call of Juarez Gunslinger and any upcoming announcements surrounding the game, make sure to follow the developers on Twitter, Facebook, and their official website. PC players can still pick up the Steam version.
