Death end re;Quest 2 is expected to release in Japan on the 13th of February, with other regions coming after.
In Death end re;Quest 2, you’ll be able to hold conversations with many citizens in the beautiful city of Liz Shoala during the day. At night, however, things change. Once the sun sets, a curse corrodes the city. The appearance of this darkness changes, and monsters roam about without fear. The story of Death end re;Quest 2 will slowly unfold as you balance between being in the world during the day, and venturing off at night to deal with the horrors. The primary location of this experience will be the Women’s Dormitory.
Death end re;Quest 2 uses a turn-based command battle system. You’ll control three members in battle at a time, and the order of turns is based upon the speed of each character. At the start of a character’s turn, they are able to move about freely on the battlefield. It’s up to the player to decide if they want to go in to attack with combos, or back away from the enemy’s range to keep themselves safe. Experimenting, and know what tactic both suits you and the character, will make a world of difference in battle.
The rules of battle are based upon the Triact system. This allows for a player to take three actions in battle during one turn. These actions include: Attack, Item, or Guard, and they can be found under the Skill menu. You can select an action in any order, and selecting multiple of the same skill will create compounds effects. Focusing on attacking, and selecting it three times, will perform a nice set of attacks on enemies. Mixing things up, like choosing to attack, then guard, and finishing up with an item, will allow you to attack, be prepared for an enemy’s attack, and use whatever buff or healing item you have.
In Death end re;Quest 2, Glitch Mode is a strengthening mechanic that gives players cheating level abilities. Every time a part member touches a curse, or is attacked, they become contaminated. What’s there is enough build up of contamination, characters enter this mode. The developers hope this will make battles even more exhilarating, and that its be designed to activate easily. Players will get to see another side of their characters because their appearances will change.
