‘Dragon Ball FighterZ’ Gets Broly Trailer

  • Perfectly captures the film.
  • No release date, but coming soon.
  • The final character of season two.

Developer Arc System Works and publisher Bandai Namco have released the official trailer for their next Dragon Ball FighterZ downloadable fighter. Dragon Ball Super version of Broly is the final character of season two. The character currently doesn’t have a release date, simply being regarded as coming soon, but this is the first trailer to be longer than 30 seconds. You can pick up Dragon Ball FighterZ on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

The trailer is excellently done, and accurately captures the character from the film. There are times where you forget this is a fighting game and not a trailer for Dragon Ball Super: Broly 2. Arc System Works has continually added a level of detail that is second to none. The final victory scene is phenomenal and looks to be a scene from the film. If this truly is the final season of content for Dragon Ball FighterZ, it’s going out with a bang.

The trailer shows moves taken directly from the film, accurately recreated, and quickly shows that this version of Broly is very different from the one available now. Dragon Ball Super’s version of Broly also seems to have gameplay mechanics unlike any other character. He starts off in his base form, and some attacks will cause him to power up and transform. Though his base form is the primary one you fight in, you go through all the transformations seen in the films.

In the film, Broly struggles with keeping his sanity and giving into the rage. In the trailer you can see this, especially with certain creative camera angles. Broly from Dragon Ball Super joins the season two roster of: Videl, Jiren, Goku (DBGT), Janemba, and Gogeta (SSGSS).

If you’re unfamiliar with Dragon Ball FighterZ, it’s a 3v3 fighting game. It is currently the highest rated fighting game that has set, and broken, records at nearly every event it’s been showcased at. It’s one of, if not the, most beautiful fighting games ever created. It’s gameplay has been designed to benefit causal players new to the genre. The more hardcore fans have found some depth, but I would have liked more. If there is a season three, it will more than likely be shown at the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour event.

If we get a season three, who would you like to see join the roster? How do you feel about Broly? Also, what is your favorite team combination? To stay up to date on Dragon Ball FighterZ, make sure to follow the developers on Twitter, Facebook, and their official website.

  1. Probably Vic won’t be voicing him. Screw the snakes at Funimation. I won’t buy anything that’s associated with them in any way.
