use of stimulants in esports twitch streaming

It seems to maintain user audience twitch streamers have to maintain their energy levels especially on long hour streams.
How are some twitch streamers able to bounce in their chairs for 4+ hours and maintain engagement?
Have you noticed any jittery or twitching behaviors in some streamers.

I can play CSGO for 4 hours straight and be bouncing in my chair the whole time.

People get excited when they play fun and exciting games.

This is something i've always thought might be involved. I'm naturally quite hyper and can't maintain the levels of energy some people produce. That means nothing though, as we are all different in our own ways. However i have seen streamers throwing shade at others, that i'd be suspicious about.
The Doc definitely doesn't, you can see his energy levels dipping and you can see him hammering food and gfuel to bring them back up. He operates just like a sine wave, relying on people and then food and gfuel. hitting his peaks and troughs. It's the people that dont let their humanity show, that should ring alarm bells. Ceez also tans a lot of caffeine and fibre to get him through it.
The people who sustain continuous energy, without show any signs of coping mechanisms are highly suspicious, in my opinion and should be tested if they are playing any esport, as in any sport. It's been a long battle to legitimise esports so the same standards should be met, it will only aid in further legitimising it.
If you pay attention you can see a lot of people in the fortnite tourneys tweeking.
As a side note, i dont think caffeine based products should count. As they only aid in maintaining peak performance and don't enhance them.

This was not the topic I thought it would be. Have seen many articles over the years about drug use in esports and I believe the electronic sports league put in measures to prevent this. Despite this, articles about drug and gambling problems in esports keep popping up. I personally think more needs to be done in this area to prevent it from happening.

As for streamers. A lot of it is personality based. You can watch a streamer get win after win but if they're not entertaining, it can get boring pretty fast.I'm sure there are recreational users and I wouldn't be surprised if there are some who are using it to get through their day. Especially those who stream full time

Imagine being such a loser that you can't even sit up in a chair and mash your mouse and keyboard because you are that unhealthy. Sorry I'm normally not that much of a dick about things, but these guys are hardly doing anything difficult. Most people wake up in the morning and go through life doing much more difficult things. I have no sympathy for people who have such little discipline they can't even play games for a living without needing drugs to do it.

People who are "pro" body builders are a big enough a joke already, but at least they are exerting themselves along side the drugs.

So many people in this world who don't have any self-respect so they drug themselves up to feel like they have meaning to their lives.

    Ah, are you serious?
4 hours is nothing, why would anyone need drugs to be active for just 4 hours?

Are we talking about people streaming for fun or professionals in a competition? I'm a little surprised a lot of the responses in this thread are along the lines of, "meh, whatever." What do y'all think of doping in pro (non e) sports or the Olympics?

It wouldn't surprise me if there are people popping or smoking something before or during a break when they stream. They are probably mostly mid-tier streamers that would, people that are trying to break higher but can't and are using things to try to give them "and edge" or more "energy" rather than trying to simply engage with viewers more. Now I do watch a streamer that eats hot sauce/peppers during stream among other things and that probably keeps him very fired up, but then that's much better than popping caffine pills or worse.

I would say that It has allot to do with someones personality. I am someone who can sit in-front of a screen for hours on end and play video games, other people would call me insane for doing that. I know many streamers as well who can almost all day and be completely fine with no "stimulants" because they enjoy it and are used to it. So it really depends on who is streaming.

I don't watch twitch because of thottery and because I just the games myself. I think most streamers are highly caffeinated especially on the long ones. There's plenty of herbals and vitamins that help but prescription drugs work way better.

Eh, they're probably all Ritalined up like the rest of our over prescribed society. Real streamers smoke crack rock from pipes fashioned of Todd Howard's shed reptilian skin.

Well when I get on one of those multi hour stream/gaming/rage sessions it is usually only caffeine in coffee or tea and then there are many times drinking beer and a few shots. But yeah it is not all that hard to sit on your ass and geek out for a few hours

Is it their choice though. I'm sure they don't take Adderall because it tastes good. No they take it because they need to win. There's a lot of money at stake and they have managers and sponsors that they have to keep happy.
