started a topic Hullo from across the pond.

    Hullo from across the pond.

    hey everyone. Hallo from Denmark!

I've been following the quartering for a while, as well as others biting back against political correctness not just in gaming, but in entertainment in general.

I am one of those women whom is supposed to benefit from it... But I hate it. Man do I hate it.
To me, making art should be something you are free to do.

I feel like, we live in such an amazing world where ANYONE can make any art they want to and publish it. Yes it is hard, no freaking duh, but that is the challenge.

I am a writer and musician myself, my stories gets pretty good feed back when released if I say so myself. Not many reads them, but those who does seem to like them, so that's good and all I am asking for.

I am though actually suffering under the political correctness because well... I write a lot of female main characters. And I admit it, when I was younger I was sad my favorite genres didn't have more females in them, that's why I began to write in the first place, I would just write the females I always wanted. As I like to say... No one is holding you back! In fact that you see something lacking is a GIFT to you as a writer! It gives you an opening to create, it is a CHALLENGE not a hold back. Don't complain, just do it.

How-ever, now people will miss trust me and think I am pushing an agenda when I actually am not, I just want to tell good and hopefully funny stories. I am very concerned about the humor in my works.

I grew up as one of those nerdy kids BEFORE it all became the big thing. I watched Lord of the rings, read all the fantasy books in the library, played Dungeon and Dragons at the role playing club, at home I played Dragon Quest VIII and Kingdom hearts on my PS2

Yup, I mostly play J-RPGS even to this day, which thank god in the midst of all this political correctness the Japanese maintain the power of not giving a fuck. I mean... I just finished playing Yakuza Kiwami 2, and I am still screaming from laughter thinking back on parts of it.

I used to write some stuff, movie reviews mostly, on the site "Agonybooth." but well, left the site some years ago. I am considering getting back into the swing of things, how-ever, I don't expect my level (Mostly due to spelling errors and grammar errors because I am from another country.) Will be up to snuff. So well, i'll mostly be hanging out in "User reviews." I think, and the RPG section, of course!

I just got gifted "Battle Chasers nightwar." and have A LOT of fun with it! then I have Tales of Vesperia in pre-order, and of course... Kingdom Hearts III.

So that's three games I can review XD

People go to Copenhagen because it is a well known city but I would love visiting other cities.

It sounds batshit insane, but in a good funny way. As long as you had a sense of humor and didn't try to make it super duper serious.

Do I need to know stuff about condemned to read it? I know nothing of condemned, I admit it.

Heh, well let me shortly explain about the three stories.

Jelly doughnut is just a short satire piece, satirizing well... modern virtue signalling.

"Tale of the frog princess" is my ultimate "Go back to classic fairytales." trying to take all the tropes of really classic fairytales and then just straight up go for it with no pretenses. My main character, her strenght is NOT that she is strong or independent, it is that she is incredible kind and hard working. Basically, I go for the complete classic Cinderella here, Cinderellas strength is that she is always kind and that is how she earn her happiness.

"Adventures of the Scarlet Fox." is a hero that the modern progressive would probably be happier with... until they realize there is a lot of colonialism in the story and I don't condemn it lol. Instead a take a more nuanced approach looking at both sides of the argument.
Funny story about Scarlet Fox... I love "Zorro." I always loved Zorro, classic Zorro. Since I was a kid, I wanted a female Zorro... There IS a a lot of female Zorro's out there.... They all suck! They are so boring, taking everything away that made Zorro so great and funny in the first place.
It took me TEN years, I am not joking, to get this right. I made many different versions, a straight up gender bend where my main character hid her gender, I tried to make a anthropomorphic world akeen to "Ducktales." to change the setting. I didn't like ANY of it.
Finally, after trying for such a long time... I cracked it! Created my own universe, close to our own but fictional allowing me much more freedom. I have written the stories as a collection of shorter stories all connected as if it was a tely series, thusly plural. "Adventures." and it is a work in progress, I ended the story where a "Season 1." would naturally end, I am though working on a "Season 2." which hopefully will come to light one day.
Just the fact that its about an FBI agent fighting psychotics and creatures from nightmares. Oh I know Dr. Who as much as you know Condemned. LOL My inspiration was the first trailer to DOOM 2016 and I kinda did go for serious but not that serious. It has a sequel too with gaming references (there is a machinegun called Dead Trigger) and Judas Priest.

I sent you some feedback in the PM here. I got the virtue signalling part for sure. You know, I will watch your work and keep reading, I can see you got creativity and passion.

btw, here's the story, let me know if you want the sequel too.
One metal-head's incursion to Hell to rescue his crush.

Will surely read your 3 stories, got the link opened up now.

Harry Potter fanfic, gotta admit it made me chuckle and nostalgic for the 2007+ years; always a good thing (cringy as it may sound)
I got a fanfic too but its not so much a fanfic but a re-imagining of Condemned Criminal Origins game protagonist.
Oh, I think all writers have cringy pieces that haunt us, trust me, its very normal. I got one very cheesy piece about a gladiator saving a Pakistani princess who got kidnapped by a Russian millionaire. We are talking MMA fights with lizard demons here.

I also recently dipped my toe in a short story satire, it's the top one, Jelly Doughnut, it's very short, might wanna give that one a go.

Then there is also my deep dark secret.... Are you ready.... This is really deep dark.
Eight years ago.... I wrote a massive Harry Potter fanfiction... It is now one of the most popular Harry Potter fanfictions on the internet and is the top google answer if you write "Snape fanfiction."

.... I swear the thing is haunting me.
I am glad I wrote it back in the day, because just writing it taught me SO much about writing! It is the greatest teaching experience I ever had... Fast forward to today do... The thing still gets nearly daily likes and people going. "Wuah! Why did you do this and this but not that and that. Your grammar sucks!"

It is a project I intend to start on this year though, the fanfic is eight years old, still get daily likes.... I should probably give it a scrub. I mean... Sometimes you gotta give people what the people wants.
Even though I moved on long ago, it still is my most popular work BY FAR. So.... well....

Inspired by the game series "Condemned;" A lone patrol officer responds to a distress call and ends up fighting the night.
