Hello from Florida! I come bearing a funny story at least?

I've been lurking around Exclusively Games for a bit and my attempted first post discovered the upper character limit, so I decided to try and hold off on an introductory post until I could finish what I was posting about and just link to a Wordpress blog or something. However, with the glorious release of Kingdom Hearts 3, I decided to introduce myself with a funny story in regards to pre-ordering it. So grab a juice box, grab a carpet square, and enjoy story time.

I've played almost every Kingdom Hearts game since it originally came out. I'm trying to finish the HD re-releases including games I never played (like Re:Coded) or the ones I ragequit as when I was younger (Re:Chain of Memories which I am sorely tempted to ragequit again because I curse the card battle system). This is necessary backstory just so you know how much I've wanted to play KH3.

Back in October 2016, Amazon posted up a listing for KH3 for December 2016. Naturally, I decided to pre-order because I needed it in my life as a huge Disney nerd, a KH nerd, and a JRPG nerd. The listing was taken down when it was discovered that KH3 was not coming out; disappointing but it wasn't the first time that had happened. Usually what happens is Amazon refunds the money for listings that are taken down but not delivered. I thought nothing of it because I'm about 95% sure I was refunded the money.

Flash forward to August 2018. KH3 is coming out for real this time, and you bet your butt I hit pre-order for the Deluxe edition to bring some joy into my life. (2018 has been a rough year for me and 2019 isn't looking much better.) I paid my money and stared at the calendar for the longest five months ever.

Now flash forward to last night when I decided to check and see when the package bearing KH3 would arrive and I could bid a fond farewell to all social connections I had until I finished the game. Only when I look at the package details, I see that there's two items: a Deluxe edition and a standard edition.

First thought: "Did I go insane, forget ordering it already, and ordered the Deluxe edition, too?"

Second thought: "I need to check my order history."

So I did that. And started laughing.

That October 2016 order? Yeah, it was still in the system, and Amazon had decided to honor that pre-order. So today the pre-orders from both last August and October 2016 are arriving. I'm going to be taking a photo of the pre-order that traveled through time before sending on the standard edition copy to a friend of mine who couldn't afford to purchase his own, so I know it's going to go to a good home of someone who will appreciate it.

And because this is the internet so "pics or it didn't happen", I'm attaching a screenshot from my orders page to prove I'm not BS'ing you guys.

Looking forward to periodically poking my head out from under my rock to talk games!

LOL. Thankfully no. This Florida woman has no desire to be the superhero nobody asked for or deserves.

Who you like? Gators, Noles, Canes or the upstarts Knights at UCF ?

You know that "is this..." meme with the guy and the butterfly? That's me and football. The only reason I understand the basics of the game is because my mother is a huge football fan who is exceptionally patient with me asking questions about how the rules work when she's just trying to watch the Super Bowl Playoffs.

Yeah, KH3 is my last pre-order after all the nonsense. I made that decision a few months ago.
