    Greetings from Sweden

Very interested in this sort of forum. Feel like most places are either bought or just reposts of low quality content with circle jerk tendencies
Places like Reddit has a lot of lowest common denominator posts, people chasing status by posting what people want to hear or expect to hear

Would love a place where you can catch up on the most recent news that isnt controlled, or at least filtered, by the meta. Will be interesting how this project turns out!

As a gamer I would say Im leaning more towards RP with a splash of FPS, but spent +1000 hours in most genres. First game I played was a game called Magic Carpet (released 94), later that year I got a NES and I was hooked! Some of my favorite games of all time are Diablo 2, FF7, OOT, CS 1.5/1.6, Q3, Mega Man 3-6, Hollow Knight, WoW, Street Fighter 4, and GoldenEye

In order of time spent I would say
    1) WoW (hardcore in vanilla / TBC, played some private later expansions, some legion with friends and managed top500 m+ as resto druid in BFA)
    2) CS 1.5 / 1.6 as it was my main game before internet, hours upon hours every day vs BOTS. Got internet pretty late and went to some tournaments with my friends. We did fairly well and payed for our entries with tournament payouts
    3) Diablo 2, again with out internet for most of my experience. Remember bringing my Necro and some alts around on a floppy to my friends who had more than one computer to mule (haha)

    Take care guys

Yea using sub CSS or newer Reddit layouts is also a no-no, leave web design to people who know how to make something user friendly that looks nice. Not looks nice but use about as user friendly as trying to drive a turtle up a icy hill backwards

Also tried some early versions of Median XL, its too different from the core but awesome. Really loved a mod called "Ancestral Recall" but at this point Id rather leave the game and remember it by how great it was/is.

    Thanks for mentioning this!
    Looks cool as.... Hell
It's called 'Diablo 2: Median XL'.

    Link to trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmPdJCLd_Z8

The big question is: "Are there any plans to port this to mobile or is this gonna be PC forever?"

(yes i stole that comment, laughed my ass off)

Yeah, I feel like reddit is trying to be the next facebook. At least redesign felt that way (it is some time I checked it, I quickly came back to the old design and still use it). Smaller subreddits are great source of info and even discussion (e.g. about gamedesign or not much popular programming language). But politics on reddit is a no-no if you are not on a left side from center (bans from subs by sub mods are common, because they fear reddit will shut them down). IMO for politics Gab and maybe Minds are better alternatives (I tried Voat, it seemed rather extreme for me there).

BTW Next year should be released Diablo 2 mod called something like Median XL. I have not tried it, but from what I read and saw, it looks damn sweet and I might go back to Diablo 2 after soo many years. I recommend checking it out, if you have not already .

So, basically like any other social network?
Thanks for taking the time to explain it

I do love Reddit but its not a optimal place for conversations or exploration. Because of the nature of the filter system (up/down votes) and human nature (being easily addicted to positive reinforcement) it quickly becomes a very circle jerky. There are benefits and disadvantages with a system like that. Its easy to spot the general opinion, but it quickly gets flooded with low effort, low quality memes because most people who are part of the "in group" (who knows the meta) can relate. The proportion is very skewed towards "meta"

The nature of subs does not make it better. Been a part of /r/mechanicalkeyboards for a long time and there are a lot of "consensus opinions", things you can poke fun at and is more or less guaranteed more "internet points" than a high quality photo of a custom keyboard with good lighting

Is also a part of a mechanical keyboard forum but its not modern enough. It feels like their philosophy is to not be user friendly haha. Also the circle jerk is very much established there as well. The information you find is of higher quality but finding it is a lot harder, so its very much questionable if its better or worse than Reddit. Unknown / new users are not greeted with much friendliness either, but the sense of community is much better. Hoping this forum can take some of the upsides and avoiding some of the downsides

Ive never dove into the political side of Reddit, but from what Ive seen in posts not at all related to politics its a fucking mess

Chased those "internet points" for a while, figure out the easiest way to them and got into the top 1% of users. From my experience small subs (<10k users) are fine and friendly, when they grow to >100k it becomes more of circle jerk than anything the subs initially was superposed to be
