  • Hello fellow gamers!

    Hello everyone.

I'm from the Chicago area and have been gaming since the NES days in the 80's. I work in IT and I love to 3d print stuff in my spare time. I look forward to this site and the ideals that inspired it's creation!

      Welcome man
Forum about Collector Editions, Limited Editions, Game Collectibles, Statues, OST's

In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very unhappy and has widely been seen as a bad move.

Welcome Matt! What kind of printer do you have? I'm currently running an Idea builder
give me a fish and I eat for a day, teach me to fish and I'll probably destroy an ecosystem. Be wary of unintended outcomes.

I actually have three. In order:
            Tevo Tornado
            Creality Ender 3
            AnyCubic Chiron

I got the Chiron last month and I'm loving it. The build area is HUGE!

They were all technically builds. The Tornado was the easiest to build out of the box because it was 4 screws to screw in the Z and X axis gantry down to the Y axis with the build plate. Since it was my first printer, it still took me about 30-45 minutes though to get unboxed and built.

The Ender 3 was a pure kit and was partially assembled, but you still have to do MOST of the work yourself. I had watched a bunch of setup videos though and I was ready. The intructions weren't actually that bad and the Ender 3 took me about an hour, maybe an hour and a half at most to build.

The Chiron was very similar to the Tornado in terms of building it, but I feel it was the hardest as it is so damn big! I mean the thing must weigh around 40 pounds and it's about 2 feet long, about 18 inches wide and at least two feet tall. It's just really difficult to maneuver it around while you put it together. Once you do get it together though, oh man -- it gives me so much more flexibility when printing now.

I've mostly been printing gifts for people. Technically though, I do both. I printed 300 keychains for the company I work at and I had to create several prototypes before we settled on the final model. Honestly, I don't know what I'd be prototyping other than parts for things that break around my house. I do have a background (about 20 years ago) in architecture and therefore CAD as well. This has helped me with Fusion360 and I've created a few basic designs and remixes of my own so far. If I could make more time to get back into 3d modeling and/or prototyping, I'd love to use my printers for that purpose. They're a really versatile tool that I think is really underrated and easily dismissed by most people.

I think they're awesome. Have been working with mine since 2015, Sadly at the moment it's broke, but repairable. Though I do want to get a bigger machine when I can budget it. I love to build a prototype, Currently working on a vacuum.mold system, and a small scale injection molding machine. Haven't worked CAD in decades, but can find my way around SketchUp! I have already seen where another member has built figures with their system
