Now here's a project I can get behind. Didn't have any way to back it financially, but let me be perfectly clear: Piss off with propaganda in games, trice damn it.
Now, that said, greetings from the Netherlands. 30+ gamer here who's been gaming for well over 2 decades now. Started with old Tetris on a 386. Was part of the good old Shareware era. Was part of the golden days of LAN parties, dialup modems, direct serial port multiplayer. And I can say... The last 10 years have been... meager, as far as good games are concerned. As the quality of the graphics has gone up, the quality of storytelling, narrative, mechanics and gameplay has suffered. And don't get me started on overmonetization...
A quick history of some of the games I've played into oblivion. Probably forgot some, but meh:
GWBasic Nibbles
GWBasic Gorilla
Tetris
SimCity 2000
Doom/Doom 2 (also did extensive level making for it)
Command and Conquer (+ Covert Ops, + Red Alert 1)
Dune
Dune 2
Simcity 3000
Transport Tycoon (/OpenTTD)
Diablo 2
Star Trek Armada 2
Neverwinter Nights (Bioware version, not the online one. Also did extensive modding/scripting for multiple communities.)
Diablo 3
Freelancer (Also did extensive modding/modeling/scripting for the Discovery mod)
Homeworld (+Cataclysm +HW2 +Complex mod)
Perfect World International (would NOT recommend anymore)
Star Trek Online
And last but not least, my current top game: Factorio
