New writer (Tips needed)

I'm new to forums and was hoping I could get a few tips on writing a choice based story RPG (script and background) in the style of the "Life is strange" title. Any tips on what to do and what to avoid would really help. Thank you.

Be subtle.... have meanings that arent apparent on first read (ie playthrough). Games now like to treat us as if we are children who dont understand stuff and need it broken down. Let the story reveal itself without the "it was this all along" stuff
