Hoping to have some good times here in these forums. I'm old by gamer standards these days. Started off on my old man's Commodore 64, after that he upgraded to a 286, then a 486dx266. The 486 really was integral to me becoming a tech savvy person in the early 90's. I was a computer nerd before computer nerd was even an insult really.
I had/have dreams of getting into the tech industry, but the need for tech workers in my part of the world is limited at best. So i work in a kitchen cabinet manufacturing factory. It's shitty work but honest pay and allows me to indulge in my lifelong hobby of gaming and computing.
Recently my knowledge of computers has fallen by the wayside since computer magazines don't really exist in their old form, and that's how i self taught myself. I used to subscribe to PC gamer and PC Authority, afaik PC Authority is dead and PC Gamer is click-bait trash. I upgraded a friends PC a few weeks back and had no clue there are pinless CPUs these days, i was mind blown! So i'm hoping that i can learn a thing or two here, and ask probably stupid questions for you all to poke fun at. :P
