Hey folks,
this is going to be a long one so I'm putting the probably most interesing things first and wallow in detail afterwards

I've got about 20 years of gaming experience under my belt (if that's even something to brag about XD). While not limited to, I'm playing mostly JRPGs like Final Fantasy(1 - 14), Grandia, Star Ocean and the Xeno Series (only Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to a greater extent, the others (like saga and gears) are still on my “started but not finished” list). One thing I had to learn during that time was that I suck at competitive games, so I stick to co-op for the most part.
Aside from gaming I try to improve my programming skills (mostly Java, a bit of Ruby some C# and C++), try myself at audio and video editing and occasionally writing and brushing up my Japanese (more like starting over learning it). I also tend to repair old stuff from time to time (most recently an old Macintosh IIci with Apple CD 300).
I recently started FF XIV (still on trial period).
Well, way more detailed than expected
… glad to be here
P.S.: Current setup and other online presences in the signature.
Only keep reading if you want to know more. It gets pretty detailed
(wtf, no “spoiler” tags?) My “gaming career” - if you like to call it that - started with the humble Commodore 64 (a metal cased C128 D to be exact). I had played a few SNES games before that at a friends house, but never was allowed to have my own console.
That finally happened on my 14th birthday when I got my trusty old GAME BOY pocket. In the meantime (iirc) I had a few experiences with other computers (like 286, 386 and 486 machines), but I didn't play a lot of those games that are now considered to be classics and must plays. I made up for that in the recent years

There are vivid memories of playing some Commander Keen (albeit for a very short time), the two Rebel Assault games, WarCraft II (DOS), SimCity2k, F15 Strike Eagle and FlightSim 4 on these machines.
After I got that GAME BOY mentioned before, the PoKéMoN fever hit us. So I was more into that for the next few years, got an N64 just for Stadium, played most of the classics on that (Mario, Zelda, 007, Rogue Squadron) and later sold it for a GBA while a PSone was already sitting next to my TV (this time, just for FFVIII) which in turn was later sold for a Dreamcast which I still have to this day. All of the consoles I sold through the years have gradually found their way back to me plus some “new” ones (like a Genesis, Master System, Saturn, SNES, MVS, NES).
The game most played on my DC was probably PSO V2 (online was free over here) which continued to some extent on the Gamecube. I late got a PS2 just for FFX but was pretty disappointed. I never had many games on either of those two systems (Soul Calibur II, Metroid, F-ZERO GX, Star Ocean III). This changed only more or less recently when I got into Metal Gear, Yakuza and re-visited Metroid Prime. Still I jave more games for my DC and the PS2 than for my GC.
Since then, I “upgraded” to a PS3 and PS4 (non Pro), a Wii and a Switch as well as DS(first model), DS lite, 3DS and new 3DS XL.
During all of that I gradually built my gaming PC on which I experienced things like StarCraft and a not so well known RPG called Silver among many other things. First from parts my father got from work or his colleagues, later obviously from new parts. My first own modern machine was an AMD Athlon XP 2800+ with about 512MB RAM, an 80G SATA HDD and a Radeon 9600 Pro (which I replaced with an XT pretty quickly) sitting on an Abit AN-7.
