How does quitting achieve that? Any job that he starts from now on - the same thing will follow.
He wasn't allowed to be a forum mod. A FORUM MOD. Like, what is he gonna work that does not result in cheap headlines for the media?

"Mobile giant customer support, now featuring the alt right" - harassment renews.
"Grocery store supports nazism by hiring literally Hitler" - harassment renews.
"Linko - the far right KKK member now on unemployment benefits - do our taxes aid nazism?" - harassment renews.
Turning your back to these people is one sure way to have a knife conveniently placed in it. But that's just my opinion, I really hope they leave him and his family alone.

That is a good question, but maybe it is not that easy? Does he know who originally posted the info?
And if the person who did the doxing is not from the same country as the person doxed (easy to happen considering is the Internet) how easy/hard is to take to court someone in that situation?
On the other hand, should be quite easy to sue if is a "news organization", no?

Of course, If You need to sue someone (1 Person) it will be harder, but if it is a news organization should be simpler. This kind of crap need to stop right now.

Unfortunately, I never got to interact with linko. I was waiting for the site to be more complete before joining the community. I am greatly angered by what was done to him and his family and I wanted to voice my support and well wishes to him in case he stops by to read these. On another note to the moderators and others working to make this space a reality, you all are so fortunate to have a boss like Jeremy, who believes in you and will stand up for you instead of caving to the whims of the angry mob.

Also, this will eventualy end up badly.I live on a small town where everyone knows and take care of each other. If my neighbors see any maniac around the houses you may be sure that the hunting riffle will be coming out! I also have a neigbhor that is a cop and trust he wont be playing games around!
And i am sure sooner or later someone will dox someone on the same situation and one of these maniacs will end up getting shot at... just wait!

I think your naive if you honestly believe they will stop harassing him and his parents just because he stepped down from this job opportunity, because he stepped down they feel justified in their actions (cyber stalking, harassment, doxing) they feel like they are the moral arbiters of this corner of the internet, they don't believe any tactic is a bad tactics, anything goes to their pursuit of a "internet utopia" where only they get to voice their opinions and everyone will applaud them for being so "curagious/woke"
