"No Political/Religious/Gender/Sexuality Discussions" So at what point will you expand this list to include every adjective typically included in the bill of rights, charter of rights, etc of most free countries!? A thread was recently closed and I thought, hey, that wasn't political, but then I checked the CoC and oh look, it's no sexuality, not just no politics. You may have been technically right to close that thread, but I think you were wrong.

I can see that. I don't mind spicy threads, but don't go too much into the ghost pepper zone.

So for clarification, only multiplayer cheats. Single-player cheats, something like the classic Konami code, that's fine?

I understand no Cracks but why cheats? Also what constitutes a cheat? Because you could get some speedrunning threads eventually and a lot of speed runs use various exploits they might want to discuss.
This has already been discussed a number of times. Sharing cheats for use in multiplayer games is not allowed.

Who said anything about discussing politics? I simply said you should be able to discuss "whatever".

I just don't agree with the principal of putting rules on what people can say, political or not. It seems self defeating in the face of what sites like IGN and Gamespot do. They censor people. This site is doing exactly the same thing.

I don't see how us discussing politics in games would somehow stop devs from putting politics in games. We - the people on this forum or any other forum, for that matter - have no bearing whatsoever on what devs put in their games. The people who influence politics being put into games are the games journalists. Hence my comment that I agree with games journalists not talking about politics, or at least remaining neutral. I just don't agree that people discussing the game and calling out political nonsense - when it rears its ugly head - should be censored.

I'd like to think the rules for profiles (and in the future, signatures?) may be the same. I also assume you can't self-promote a political/agenda-themed site or project in the self-promotions section.

i think when talking about any of the following: religion, sexuality or gender... the same common sense rule as i mentioned with politics should be able to apply. the only thing really you have to worry about is bias and unfair moderation.

Thought I’d just stop by to see how the mods propose handling the removal of politics/partisan topics when it isn’t related to the subject of games.
I’m looking forward to being able to talk about our vidya games and get news & opinions without a lecture.
Games can be used to gently(or not) expose people to certain topics, so it’s right that we can discuss them, but also as escapism. We should take our enthusiasm for the medium and share our opinions without dividing into ideological bubbles.
There’s already enough of that going around.

Good list, there's some juicy stuff in there. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts and ideas on these things - in the appropriate threads of course. I don't think there is anything wrong with discussing controversial topics, as long as people keep things civilised. But keep in mind there are a lot of fans of The Quartering here, so some people might have strong opinions on these things lol.

Sorry that was crap English on my part, I should rephrase that to - heavily romance themed games with SJW influences/undertones.

Some of them are slight such as pretty much all winter wolf titles IMO, while others like Siege of Dragonspear felt heavy handed with it which can really be felt when you become immersed in the game. Apparently Dragon Age 4 will be political and "celebrate diversity" according to its director so I cannot wait to play that.

The "SJW Awareness" curator on steam mentions all of Christine Love's game titles but I cannot comment on those yet as they sit in my unplayed backlog :'(

Hopefully moderators here can tell the obvious difference like you can.

That still leaves sexuality and gender though... Since the entire point of buying romance games (at least for people like me) is to enjoy the damn romance it will naturally make sexuality, gender (and maybe even religion) unavoidable topics for both objective and subjective discussion/critique. So I really hope moderators are lenient with the "No Religious/Gender/Sexuality Discussions" rule regarding romance games.
Working...
