That sounds interesting. I've never heard of any games like that; I'd like to check those out. What are the titles of those games?

    I have two questions:
    1) Do moderation tools on this site include the "move thread" ability? And
    2) If so, why not use to instead of taking the lazy and counterproductive route to lock certain threads for being "off topic"?

There is a difference between talking about a GAME that has "SJW" themes in it... and talking about POLITICS that just happen to overlap in some games in order to use as a springboard to launch an agenda. One is obviously okay, while the other isn't.

Also, not everything is "political." Some topics, while hotbed issues with activists and other morons, do not pertain to politics. In short, social justice is not politics. So no reason to treat them as such.

I DISAGREE... particularly as I am a fan of playing heavily "SJW" themed romance games.

It would be nearly impossible to have in-depth discussions about these games without including politics and sexuality. This also includes personal bias towards ones own political and sexual preferences in games. I would much rather political and sexual identity/preference discussion be allowed (within reason) if the game actually has it as it's main content. Either that or at least have a quarantined place for us to talk about such games.

You give people too much credit People can barely discuss in a civil way on here about games, heaven forbid should non-gaming things be allowed.

I guess I should be more clear. Like-minded as in we all have a unifying interest. When people have a common ground to work off of, they are (usually) more civil towards each other. Don't get me wrong, there's probably people on here who would never get along. But, I'd like to think that 99% of us are capable of being respectful of other ideas. There will always be that 1% though. There will be people that get banned from here even though they only ever talked about games. Some people are just trouble makers.

Anyways, I'll say it again: if they decide it isn't worth it, I respect that decision. There is nothing stopping anyone from having these discussions through PMs or anything like that.

I completely agree with this, although if I start worshiping Bowsette and start complaining about her non-representation in vidja game I wonder if that falls under the "no religious talk" clause lol (I'm joking if that wasn't obvious)

This is a forum about games and games only, so how can you know they will be "like-minded"? They may be the opposite end of the spectrum from you, causing all sorts flame wars which is what the site is specifically supposed to prevent.

If you cannot agree with the rules then this place is not for you to have your discussions. There are many other places where you can discuss your politics with like-minded people. You can come here for the reviews and do your political debates elsewhere.

Why would you come to a gaming forum to talk about stuff other than gaming?

How can you take politics out of games if you don't have rules to stop people talking about politics and enforce those rules?

Personally, I feel everybody should just be able to say what they want. Freedom of speech and all that. Obviously things such as racism or homophobia should be moderated, but people in the forums and comments should be free to discuss whatever. The site itself though (as in news and game reviews) should avoid pushing political agendas. I thought that was the point of this site, but I may have got the wrong end of the stick. It shouldn't really matter what any of us lowly consumers say, just what the publication says. I think these rules are slightly authoritarian, hypocritical of the reason the site was created (to take politics out of gaming journalism, not every day conversation). Silly.

Just my opinion, but personally I wouldn't comment on those specific things your profile as it can lead to people forming an unnecessary bias against you, or using it as ammunition against you if end up getting into a heated debate about something.

By the way, welcome to the community!
