A lot of sites give out "Game of the Year", "Best Graphics", "Best Soundtrack" etc. And game companies do try and court these awards. It gives prestige and exposure in a very crowded industry, and to be able to put an award icon on your game on Steam probably bolsters sales (I don't have the data to back this up, but I imagine it can't hurt).
If ExclusivelyGames is trying to compete with other sites, it might be helpful to try and extend EG's influence by granting awards. Maybe have a USER'S CHOICE and a EDITOR'S CHOICE... to engage the audience, as well as maintaining the prestige of a curated pick. (Though I'd say "Gamer's Choice" has a better ring to it).
You may also be able to court exclusive content, such as event by gamedevs, interviews, demos, beta keys etc, if endorsement from EG becomes coveted in the industry.
At the very least, it will give exclusively gamers a sense that their voices have been heard, which is better than a lot of these other awards.

SUGGESTION: Video Game Awards for 2019

I'm down with this idea, but I'll be upfront right now. I'm probably always going to vote for the JRPGS.

Yeah, one thing I want to suggest is to NOT nominate cross-platform games as best game for X platform. It makes these awards less useful going forward - recently I've been building a PS2 library for myself, and going back 10 years I'm constantly annoyed how "best PS2 games" lists have cross-platform titles listed. I mean, I know Hitman Blood Money is a good game, but I can also play that on PC without having the original hardware. Just a thought.

I agree with that suggestion. We could have a rewards live stream on the platforms.

Seems reasonable, probably we'll see such feature at ExG in the future.
