I wrote a user review that's about 4k words long and had a dozen or so pictures. When I tried posting the review I got this error message. I tried again without images and then once again by posting only a fragment of the entire review. Every attempt ended with the same uninformative error message.

    Help, please?

You are not the only person having this issue. I have been trying to post a user review for 3 weeks now and all I get is the same error. Only thing I have not tried is sacrificing an old trackball mouse.

It helps to know that it's not just me. Guess it's one of those bugs that needs ironing out. I'll do a little bit of troubleshooting on my own later today and see, if I can stumble on a work-around.

That doesn't seem to be problem. I'll try something else.

I tried a different title for the user review, but that didn't make a difference. I figured there might have been a filter stopping me from posting a review, because the game had been reviewed already.

Weird hidden character? Try cutting and pasting into notepad (if you're on Windows) and then cutting and pasting back to here.

Attachments or pictures it doesn't like? Try removing everything but the text.

There is a maximum number of characters too so you'll have to chop up a long post.

This might be it. My OS is Ubuntu Linux and I'm using LibreOffice Writer as a text editor. I seem to recall that the return-character for Linux is different from Windows, but you can't see that in a WYSIWYG-editor or most text editors. I'll have to see how I might be able to convert the text into Windows-friendly format and then posting a fragment of the review.

Also, thanks for letting me know that there's a character limit.

There's the problem: Linux. Just kidding! Glad I could help.

I used the WYSIWYG editor to retype an entire paragraph and added an image. The post submitted without any problems.

I'm going to guess that the issue is with some hidden character(s) that is not visible in the WYSIWYG-editor or the text editor I'm using on Linux.

EDIT: Selecting "clear formatting" in the LibreOffice Writer seems to have resolved whatever hidden character issues I was having. I can now copy and paste plain text into the WYSIWYG-editor.

TelperionST, I thank you for your troubleshooting efforts.

Unfortunately, noting has worked for me. Nothing but errors. Typing directly into this editor, error. Saving to a text file and copy past, error. Breaking up the post into shorter section, error.

The most frustrating part is this, right here, responding with no problems.

This is a cut and paste from a Word document test.

            Well that worked.

              This might help you.

"Text is displayed as a combination of direct formatting (also known as automatic styles) and common styles. So you need to clear direct formatting + set paragraph style to default + set character style to default. Also, there may be tables or sections that were created, although not in this case. I normally paste as unformatted text instead or copy to a text editor first."

I had this same issue when I posted my review. I think it's just the site experiencing issues. I didn't change anything on my post from the first time I tried until it succeeded. It might just be that it fails because it's too much for their current system to handle at that specific time with all the other things its trying to do. I managed to get mine to go through around 3PM EST when there was only 4 people online and like 10 guests without any issues. Though I know jack shit about servers and websites and what not so take what I say with a grain of salt. Just figured I'd throw in my own situation and how I solved it.

Though I am really curious about your review, I take it the Stelaris review is the one you were trying to get up?

Yes, the Stellaris-review. I did run into a new error, which I took to mean that I had placed too many images into a single post. I resolved it by moving one image to a different section of the review and after that everything worked out well enough.

Maddminister you're using Word? Try saving as a DOS text file (the drop down menu, down arrow, when you do a "save as"), then opening in the default app, then cutting and pasting into here. Maybe it's the new line/carriage return thing.

I ran into some new issues, which forced me to post a fragment of my Kingsway review as an image.

There is something that triggers the forum's error messaging system, if I try posting this fragment as plain text on the forum.

I tried it out on the user review and on this section. Both times this single fragment of text failed to post with the "Error_X_While_Saving_Content" message.

Otherwise I didn't have any problems with posting my review, except the combat mechanics section was so long that I had to cut it into two posts.

Saskia Thanks, I'll have a review up in a few days. I just really wanted to show what the game looks like and a still-image wouldn't do it justice.
