While we are spittballing ideas I'D recommend that using "reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

be grounds for a nice vacation as well. It's extremely disrespectful whether you're right or wrong. It's the equivalent of spitting in the face of the person you're talking to IRL. Anonymity of the internet indeed brings out the animal of some people.

Why were those threads deleted? I ask because you reopened Aileron's thread on the topic to say you were re-closing the thread, contact a moderator to find out why, and the question has allready been answered. But I don't believe it has been answered. I am still in the dark as to why threads are being deleted with no warning. Why threads are being deleted instead of being closed. Why do you want us to personally contact moderators to have it explained instead of simply putting that explanation in your post? Would it not be simpler and easier to just post the explanation in the thread discussing the issue?

It seems odd that you would re-open a thread another mod had already closed to simply restate what the other mod had said and then reclose the thread again. Maybe I'm missing something, but I am very confused.
The message was the OP of the thread you're talking about. My post earlier in this thread still stands, we'll be looking into. At no point was it ever posted that ALL users should contact mods, it was just in this one example where a user felt they needed to talk to a mod.

I hope this clears things up.

I can't even properly find the Main rules, The format rules, the list of Mods to contact, what are they thinking of ? why i have this idea in mind as a user, but the mod who gets payed for providing me comfortable forum usage, has no idea ?, i mean , to this point you can at least google "how to structure the forum" and it will do /
If people are concerned - you make an announcement , it's freaking obvious, where's all this stuff ?, you don't have to be "the super active contributor forum founder" to create a simple announcement.

Plenty of threads have been moved, closed or merged when needed.

As said prior, everything will be listed and stickied in the new year now the forums and Discord have stable active user base.

Then it's the manager's fault for ignoring the current state of the community, all this results in a bad image.
After all what's the point for hiring the staff that does literally nothing because you restrict their ability, also there's no recent announcement given about the state of moderation, i'm sure that the manager is also capable of making it, and is obligated to read the forums, right ?
It doesn't require much to keep users informed at least.

We'll understand if something, but don't give us silence.

I agree they could be doing a better job, but they seem a little hamstrung by the fact that the forum doesn't seem to be properly set up yet, and while they may be mods they won't be admins so some things they can't do. The site needs to configure and enable group icons so that mods are identified in the avatar section when they post, or the templates needs updated to show who is a mod maybe. Likewise there are pages that don't seem to exist such as a list of who is in each group which will let people see at a glance who the mods are. Maybe they can't make stickies, or have been told not to? At the moment it's all very opaque.

If I was to add my tuppence of pure speculation and conjecture, it doesn't seem like Jeremy takes any interest in this forum at all, seems to just be something he is getting other people to do for him. Is he even a member? As this community is so-far manufactured you can't promote mods from within as it takes time to see who is suitable and who isn't, so the only realistic alternatives are to a) mod it himself (see previous points) b) employ sometime to be a mod. The latter guarantees he gets suitable people, however those people are employees, and we don't know the terms of their employment. It might be to simply spend x hours a week on the forum, it might be as little as 2 or 3. Maybe they are employed to simply check once a day and deal with any issues that they think need to be dealt with. Maybe they only need to do this two or three times a week?

The frustrations are probably coming from the fact that most of us are used to forums with more developed communities, where the mods are on just as often as the users so things are dealt with quicker and with more transparency. The mods also take part in threads etc as they are proper community members who have simply accepted an additional responsibility. That is very different to what we're seeing here. I don't think there is any easy solution to this, not until much further down the line anyway, it's probably something we're just going to have to put up with and accept for now. Maybe even show a little tolerance and not start a thread every one of your s**tposts are deleted, then a thread when the thread moaning is deleted, then hijack other un-related threads to moan about it too. If having your stuff deleted triggers you so much then maybe the internet isn't for you.

I am starting to consider your wording on the "dildo" part kinda rough but hell of a valid, lately.
Like, the mods had one job that takes around 2 minutes for a task be done to prevent an absolute shitshow, there's no "wait until holidays pass" or else, wth, what a lack of enthusiasm.
(no need to apologise for anything though, people have different ways of expressing themselves, you took the criticism of yours - that's just enough,
if your expression was on the edge of violating any rule, there's always a mean to edit and not removing the fucking thing entirely, that's nutts)
I am not going to assume that the reason of this was exactly related to "politics and snowflakes", but still, that was just a lil' - lil' bit fucked up tbh.

I think what's happening is that since the site is not up yet, people are spinning their wheels staying engaged with the forum while they wait, so the same topics keep repeating.

We need a way to recognise the staff, if indeed there are any. We need a way to contact mods and admins outside of the report button.

Merging threads is a decent way to de-clutter forums without deleting people's posts, I used to do it all the time back in the day when I modded several vb forums, some orders of magnitudes bigger than this. There would be a notification sent to the thread starter and the offending thread would have a redirect to the merged thread for a short time before being removed from the list of threads.

A structured staff is essential to keep a forum running smoothly, so is transparency in the moderation of the forum. Members must have a way of being notified about thread/post removal/merging and be given a cogent reason.

Stuck/pinned threads in certain sub forums explaining the rules to members about posting duplicate topics is also a good way to avoid these situations. They also give mods a 'go to' thread to point offenders to when merging or deleting a thread.

If the forum continues to grow, which I sincerely hope it does, a mod/admin team is essential to stop it becoming a free for all and a haven for spambots. It's hard enough to combat the spammers with a good team, impossible without one.

    This. 100%

i make no apologies. still. a second thread banned because some butthurt snowflake got offended... sounds like politics are again making their way into this forum on an administrative level. the entire point of this forum is not to bring politics into things. so far, it has been a catastrophic failure. i stand by my previous statements... "Jeremy, fire the dildo."

    I am joining your rebelion,
    saluting your point here.
(p.s. it was deleted because you gave the reason to delete it with your attitude, told you, however I think that it shouldn't have been deleted at all
The response would take literally 2 mins of effort and could clear everything, no idea why it still doesn't happen, you can't even miss this discussion lately if you're somewhat active on this forum)

    Now we're talking.
    I've made these awhile ago.

For people, instead of making a new 10th thread with one sentence of a content, to just post their thoughts and easily check if there's already the thread like this.
Yet people still ignored these when those were on the 1st page. So i just warned people by linking the threads, that there's already a plenty of duplicates.
Some people reacted normally, some started reacting like they've been offended by me telling them to not spam, then they demand some other wording or something, Jesus Christ, you aren't babies, just use the freaking search option.

Also why noone's handling all the shitposting ? wth is this ?

No stickies for the forum guide/rules/format/faq etc , where's all this stuff.
    this is an outrage
