    What other systems have you tried? It's not like the only one you have.

    Unfortunately you can't tell people's intent so at some point someone needs to make a judgement call, and that will be a moderator. Sometimes they might get things wrong, and some will be better than others. It's not a perfect system but it's the only system we have.

Obviously if you're trolling then what you post is controversial, so trolling is posting controversial things, but posting controversial things isn't always trolling. The deciding factor on if posting controversial things is trolling or not is the intent. If you did it purely to rile people then it is trolling. Often the controversial things posted when trolling have little merit which is why it makes it easier to determine if a post is a troll or not, however it's not always clear-cut.

    And yes it is an open forum which is why when you post things I don't agree with it is within my rights to tell you I don't agree and why I don't agree which is what I'm doing right now.

    Example of Linko: his tweet regardless of his intention caused negative reaction from overly triggerable people who made fake outrage and had him fired.

    The other definition you were given;

    "Posting with the intentional motive to make someone or a potential group angry. Emphasis on the "intentional" part."

    Also mentions the intentional part. So both definitions mentioned that the intention is to provoke a reaction yet you ignored that.
