Bad publisher from the point of anti-consumer practices like unfair microtransactions, bugs etc

I think is too subjective of a subject for us to even touch it.
What is a bad publisher for one may not be to the other.

For example, i see a lot of people complaining about the Feminists/KKK/etc that Rockstart got into RDR2 but to me i see no problem with it at all.
I found it to be done in a very organic and belivable way.
Sure that EA is without a doubt a terrible company, but i dont think Activision is nearly as bad as them, to be honest i actually have no complains at all about them.

So you see how subjective and personal the opinions are on this subject, better to let it be... just my 2 cents

Friendly reminder for you ola_norsk and everyone else to stay on topic and avoid double posting

Also i'd ask everyone to judge the concept from the standpoint of a user rather than from an ideology perspective (of any direction).
And make sure to abstain from political debates of any form.

Valkenr "Publishing negativity is, IMO, a very bad idea." ...

How about sarcasm and dark comedy/humor? also negative?

And keep in mind, i don't know you, and you don't know me.. But you're coming off as a bit of dullard IMO, just saying..

Also, fancy-words and shit is for poets.

    "maybe i should've said.." ... "[..]WHAT I ACTUALLY, HONESTLY MEANT!"... ?

    You BILLYGOAT !

    To your edits:

My experience with reddit is some constructive conversation sprinkled on top of a mountain of garbage. Some subs are ok, but if you start scrolling down a thread it just gets worse and worse. Add on top of that the sensationalist culture and ease of mass-flagging dissenting opinions to hide them from view, and you have wonderful conversation that goes nowhere 99.9995% of the time.

Perhaps I should have said "Not gain the reputation of..." instead of "Not become another..." That is more to my intent.

To be clear, this thread is about the published content side of ExGames, not the user side. Publishing negativity is, IMO, a very bad idea. Publishing constructive criticism is a great idea. Trying to shape user discussion is fiendishly difficult. The subset of people who take the time to post their opinions on the internet has a disproportionate share of socially toxic personalities.

As for humor, I'm a free speech absolutist. As long as your intent is clearly not to be hurtful, it gets a pass in my book. Now, interpreting intent is next to impossible with text, which is where the fun happens. Unless we all want to speak like Elcor and preface everything with an emotive statement.

There is a world of difference between a ranked list of good publishers, and a ranked list of bad publishers. Yes, you can infer the latter from the former, but presentation is everything.

Keep in mind that this is not a list of games or devs, this is the list of commercial entities - sellers

Also, and perhaps an even more devious idea, though surely only to the extent of being an annoyance:
    1. Gather clearly hostile game's media- and companies organization IP ranges to a list
    2. Add their collected IP's to exclusivelygames.com incoming IP filter/firewall service
Not at all impossible to circumvent, but annoyance to them if they try to lazily lookup this site from their office desk..

BTW: e.g monnef 's list http://www.deepfreeze.it/outlet.php could be useful in such regards ...

Surely there's bound to be registers of sorts for such inf.. HELLO Kotaku https://bgp.he.net/AS13511

I think each game should be judged for its merits as well as its downfalls. Sure if a game turns out to mostly dlc after you've already chucked out the full price expecting to get a full game, our reviews or user reviews section should be enough to cover that. Since Jeremy really doesn't want to depend on advertising to support the site, we can truly be honest here and not beholden to any publisher or developer for ad revenue.
