Why Are A Lot of You Posting in the "News" Forum??

...when you should be posting in the general VG forum. Is it an audience thing? No board that fits the criteria?

Can you see any similarities? Yeah, they're all non-news threads. That's half the threads on the first page. Funny thing is... Tonic is probably going to message me directly for "spamming' or violating the rules and ignore everyone else. He has a tenancy of doing that. (he did, btw)

Seriously. The 5 peeps I mentioned by name. What is making you guys want to post general topics here specifically? Is it because you guys have a clique going on here or something else? Much appreciated. I know Tonic would like to paint this out as me trying to "antagonize" you guys, but I was just wanting an open discussion about it. I thought maybe we all could come together and discuss it to maybe make the forums better. all chill.

Vbulletin does have a few more features. But it is far less user friendly then Xenforo and a number of other forum software products. User friendliness trumps features in my opinion.

If the thread was "Upcoming Games of 2019", you would have a point. But it isn't, the topic is you asking for game suggestions based on your preferences. "help me find a good game" isn't news.

its all good. thanks for responding. just trying to get some forum opinions from the creators of threads here. does seem like its anyone's "fault" just a lack of forum tools and boards.

vBulletin has way more features than xenforo. The tools etc are all there, nothing can stop people posting in the wrong forum.

I posted that in news because Jeremy did a stream and a video about Apex's skin. Probably would have been better in the video games section. I'll keep that in mind

Vbulletin is the actual worst decision they could have made with regards to forum software. I would have gone with Xenforo but it wasn't my choice. They did pick the cheap option though, excluding the free software.

Seems the problem is just a lack of tools and boards for moderators and users to participate in and use. I'm sure it will get batter over time.

Okay. I was just trying to have an organic and constructive means of discussion around the issue. I wasn't "playing the antagonist." I was just trying to have a conversation with my peers. Really, there is a lack of forum tools and board options on the forums and greatly limit everyone. You don't have to take such a defensive approach to all this. But I am getting a better understanding of it all. MadMummy's response says it all. Looks like I just made a mistake of, ironically, posting on the wrong board myself. I thought about posting it in the Questions board, but I thought it would be more relevant to do so in the actual board in question. My mistake. Nothing malicious about it. But glad I can bring a larger problem than my little ol thread to your attention.
