You know, even poorly made DOOM mods are fun, because the mechanics of the game are so tight that it's still fun. Even just an empty room with demons to kill is a blast

Yeah this is confusing me too.. I own the original doom through the Doom 3 BFG edition so i'm not sure if I will be able to get it on that.

You'll just need any retail version of the game, Ultimate Doom will work fine. A modern source port will do the rest.

Definitely.
The site says that the commercial 1993 version is required. I only have the '95 Ultimate version with the fourth episode. Looks like I have to do some searching to find a place to buy the original, if that's true.
Hopefully it's just some mixed signals because the explanation to run it with gzdoom mentions the fourth episode.
