Sega Dreamcast - Greatest Retro Console

On a technical level, the Dreamcast did a lot, but unless you live in Japan, the best games the system had are all on better consoles that took the basic ideas the Dreamcast had and made them better. There's this mentality to push the Dreamcast to be this amazing system, and it simply wasn't. There's a reason it's the 27th best selling console of all time, because it wasn't good enough to do any better than that.

The best games the console had were ,mostly exclusives so they didn't even come out on other consoles. Sales figures != quality.

Shenmue was also ground breaking, as was MSR. The Dreamcast was a cracking console. Sadly the better deserving consoles regularly lose out to better marketed rivals.

My biggest issue with the console is how unreliable it is and just how bad the controller is. Some fantastic games, but the hardware is junk. IMO, of course.

I never played any PSO but I did play the heck out of Armada. That game was so much fun to just sit and play with a friend all night.

I would rate Saturn over the Dreamcast - And really the best Retro Consoles would probably have to be either Super Nintendo or Playstation 1 or 2 which is painful for me to say as im a huge SEGA fan.

I love the dreamcast especially because the fighting games were amazing on it
