System Shock 2. I haven't tried any hq packs or anything like that, just the basic game and it still feels great.

From time to time I bring back some of the older games I found aged very well. A few that is worth mentioning
    1) Max Payne (1 + 2) - Really one of my favorite story shooters of all time. First time I found bullet time done great. The comic book storytelling is also done to perfection
    2) Warcraft 3 - Still playing with friends, ladder / ranked not so much but the custom maps just put the engine and creative to 11
    3) Baulders Gate 2 / Icewind Dale 2 - As mentioned before the gold standard for RPG
    4) Street Fighter (Super Turbo (SF2) + Third Strike + Ultra (SF4)) - Any of the old versions will do, filled with lovely bullshit and gimmix. My favorite is uSF4 since its my first I took seriously, ST is silly but fun, and Third Strike is super heavy on fundamentals but still super fun
    5) Diablo 2 - Gold standard for hack-n-slash, dust this bad boy off from time to time running with a mod
    6) Mega Man (3-7) - Think its my first favorite game, got a lot of blisters from playing these on NES
    7) Age Of Empires - Fantastic chill single player RTS

I've actually never even played Terranigma, maybe I'll have to check it out. Looking it up, it makes sense that I'm not super familiar with it since it was never released in NA.

I have, though I had a strange issue after the first time I played it where when I'd launch it, it'd run the classic version. Haven't really gotten back to it since.

I think Games that are set in the Tactics Genre mostly never age poorly. Safe for some very early Fire Emblem Titles, Games like Final Fantasy Tactics (PS1), Tactics Ogre and Records of Lodus War are as playable as they were back then. Oh, and Terranigma also aged well, how can you mention Chrono Trigger but not Terranigma?! What is wrong with you?!!? Do you even have a Soul?!? (Overacting a Terranigma Fan-Boy, no offense^^)

I also think that the Gothic Series, even the first Game, (with a little patch to fix the graphics of the inventoryscreen on newer systems) is still very playable.

Have you tried the remastered version of Starcraft? even though i feel Startcraft II was the same exact game with 3D graphics

Definitely worth it if you haven't played them yet. I urge you though, to start with the beginning; DS1. Because once you get used to the gameplay improvements in DS2 it's harder to go to DS1 after.

It seems like most sprite based games are still fine. It seems to me that most early 3d console games (ps1 more than n64) have aged poorly. I don't normally care about graphics, but I need to be able to at least tell what I'm looking at. I'll put a few of my favorites below that I still occasionally play today.

    Donkey Kong Country 1 - 3 (SNES)
    Chrono Trigger (SNES)
    Super Metroid (SNES)
    Doom (PC)
    Starcraft (PC)
    Diablo 1 and 2 (PC)
Super Mario Bros. 1 and 3 (NES)
    Super Mario World (SNES)

    Street Fighter 2 Turbo (SNES)
    Tetris (GameBoy Classic)
Super Mario World (SNES) is as great today as it always was.

@matcam PERSONAL OPINION AHEAD: I would certainly go for Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin. The Dark Souls 1 remaster is only 'worth it' if you don't own Prepare to Die Edition already since it is just an expensive visual upgrade, as shown by infamous hacker and blight to the Dark Souls community Ryan Reynolds. Dark Souls 3 absolutely worth it... when discounted. Just be sure to get the DLCs for 3 since that is about the only good thing it has going for it and where the content really shines with awesome bosses and envoirments.

Heroes of M&M 3? I'd still play that over most RTS's anyway. True 10/10 masterpiece.

I have a really nice and helpful clan if you ever wanna play. I'm on like, everyday playing and doing random stuff. Runescape doesn't always have to be about the killing and grinding. I got bored and started collecting weird party hats, I once saw a guy called AllPushUps and sat in the Grand Exchange doing the push up emote all day XD
It's a fun game that you could get lost in. The world and characters are pretty cool and somehow the minimalist graphics don't take away from the game at all.

I wish a had a good group of friends to game with on a game like that. For me those kind of games get boring by myself
Working...
