For me it has to be Cadillacs and Dinosaurs on arcade. God, we were playing coop with my brother and for the first time in my life (and as a kid!!) I had people behind us and cheering us to go ahead and complete the game. It was summer afternoon I will not ever forget it. I felt like the world was watching me as I stood there playing, in front of the screen trying to do my best. In the end, I got no idea how we got to the final stage and beat the final boss. I just remember that we finished it and all the people behind us cheering (kids and adults all the same!).

It was not the first I got the satisfaction to beat a game, but it was the first time -and only one- I did it in public and it was great!

When I was around 18, I beat DoDonPachi in one credit. I've been playing it like crazy for about a year at that point. What's also weird is I had a dream about beating it in one credit the night before.

I was playing Sonic on my Genesis the other night, as I've not played it in a long while. I used to be good at it, now I'm sucking hard. ^^

I found that I'm nearly as good as Sonic the Hedgehog as I used to be. I tried playing it maybe a month ago and ran into trouble in the Power Plant of all things, a stage I used to wiz on through without a thought as a kid.

I remember beating Monkey Island 1 and 2 when i was very young and couldn't properly read yet. No clue how many hours it must have taken to brute force those games completely, but i somehow did it.

X-Wing Alliance currently stuck on the first Training Mission for the rebellion.
God those Gamma Class Assualt Shuttles are hard to beat.

Doesn't help that my current stick is to precise for that old game.

Beating the underwater Weapon in FFVII without "Underwater breath materia" (I didn't know there was one that time). It was such a pain!

Super Monkey Ball 2. More than likely, I just had so much time to try over and over on the stages, and I managed to beat all 10 worlds as a kid. Nowadays, I have no idea how I managed to get through World 8-10 as a kid. Those stages are so frustrating. Took me around 30 minutes just to beat one of the stages in World 9.
