Akumajo Dracula X: Chi no Rondo. The only thing I would change is to make it a little bit harder, which they did with the PSP remake. Unfortunately, it was also the last real Castlevania.

I forgot SimCity. So SimCity, Civilization, and Ultima. You put whatever numbers you want after those titles, depending on how old you are.

I want to say Chrono Trigger but I also want to say Morrowind, dont know cant decide. I do believe that Planetside 2 is the best multiplayer game ever made though. I just love how hectic that game can get nothing compares.

Diablo 2 for me. That game had everything. It's a little outdated now but for me was a great game. Next one would be Dota for Warcraft 3, i played that game for almost 10 years.

Having to go to page 3 to see Diablo 2 almost invalidates this forum! Nice save my guy

          If we are talking Retro:

Metroid. Getting to the end and having Samus take off her armor was like "WHAAAA?!?"

If we are going more modern, then I probably agree with all the Witcher 3 votes.

My vote goes to Thief 2 The Metal Age. When that game was released it took the genre defining work done in the original Thief game, and perfected it. In addition to having a tremendous campaign, there are also a ton of user created levels to play. Man, I love that game.

              Difficult question.
On one hand there is the Metroid franchise because of gameplay, story, and Samus. I hope that there will be another part that continues after Metroid Fusion with the Federation declaring Samus a threat or something like that after she destroyed their bioweapons labs twice. Or maybe a Metroid part set in the time before she became the bounty hunter she is e.g. set in the timeline of the manga.

On the other hand… Touhou! I fucking love Touhou! Birdbrain, Catgirls, Masochistic celestial and the permanently drunk oni! TOUHOU!

DOOM, hands down one of the most important games ever made. Hell at one point it was installed on more computers then windows.....let that sink in. That game was known by everyone, gamers and non-gamers world wide and I can still play it and have fun 25 YEARS later. Good games stand out from the crowd, Great games create the roads good games follow.

                  Baldur's Gate 2.

Maybe the mods helped it even more, but i consider it the "Iliad" of virtual RPGs.

                      Suikoden II hands down.

That said, I have a strong bias towards JRPGs.

If I venture outside of the genre I would easily go with Super Mario Bros 3. Followed by The Legend of Zelda.

Completely agree with this. I never did finish Suikoden II but for some reason or another I did finish 4, 5 and Tierkreis. I have this weird issue where if I finish 2 I'll be sad that the journey comes to an end. If not that, I'd throw in Chrono Trigger.

Thief the Dark Project (NOT the gold version) is the definitive answer for me, original deus ex is up there somewhere and a bit below that is gta:sa and hl2

Old Retro? SNES should be ok.
Genghis Khan II Clan of the Gray Wolf!

I feel like I'm the only person that has ever played it when people talk about best games. I played this more than the Final Fantasy games and Ogre Battle and Liberty or Death. I liked it a lot though I don't know what I think of it now if I played it. I can only vouch for my past self as liking it a lot.

Personally I'd go with Super Mario Bros. 3 on the NES. Mostly because of nostalgia. It was the only video game my dad and I played together when I was a little kid....(rest his soul, cancer got him last year )
