I amass digital PC games but collect arcade boards. The latter is much more carefully curated, due to price and space requirements, which to me makes it a collection. The "gotta catch 'em all mentality" is more hoarding than collecting to me.

Looks like a pretty great setup. I ought to get a similar TV table to fit all my consoles.

I used to collect the classics from when I grew up. A few years ago the wife and I moved from the city to a 10 acre farm without a real dedicated ISP. So, with the move I needed to downsize and, sadly, gave away all my old systems, Atari 800XL (my first computer with a 300 bps modem and no HDD), NES, SNES, etc. Now I collect all things physical copy from movies, TV shows, and video games.

After living 37 years in the city where, eventually, unlimited high-speed internet was the norm to about 20 Mbps and a 50 GB/mo cap, digital downloads and streaming just isn't doable. I still weep now and again.

Comics. I got Lucky Luck, Asterix & Obelix, Tintin, Blacksad, Mad, Playboy Satire Comics, Marvel, DC, Blondie Comic, Spirou and Fantasio and so on. I was also lucky to inherit my grandfathers coin and stamp collection.

Wow! Those take up a lot more space than most of the other items mentioned in this thread. May I ask approx how many? 2-3, 10, 100s?

1st to 5th edition D&D core rulebooks & select non-core rulebooks, but I'm pretty much done. I'm missing OD&D, but those are too expensive >$1000 Also, C64 and C128 stuff, mostly books, since I already have the computers and basic peripherals. Also, vintage vinyl LPs.

I just collect the games via emulators. It is amazing how that old tech STILL works to this day.

I've been collecting JRPGs, physical. They're quite expensive, sometimes reaching $75 USD + tax for one, and that's not even a complete-in-box game. I shudder to think how much it's going to cost me when I get around to purchasing Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, and Secret of Mana. I've been a consistent gamer (meaning I was under my own power and buying my own games) since the PS2, so I have most of what the PS2, PS3, and PS4 have in terms of JRPGs, as I bought them as they were being released.

I collect everything tomb raider that I come across, trying to collect every game up until underworld and every issue of the top cow comics. Not sure if it is a popular opinion that the square enix games are real tomb raider games.

Yea, that is a good way to be. I find myself forced to buy a lot of stuff digital due to limited availability in rural Missouri. I'm currently looking for a physical copy of Fate/Extella.
