What were your highlights from The Game Awards?

I think we can all agree that The Game Awards have a healthy helping of cringe and seemingly paid advertisement in them. However, there's always a strong showing of premieres as well.

I haven't been excited about games in a good while. I kind of got disillusioned and because I primarily play MMOs you can imagine how that's been going for me. Some of these announcement have me pretty hype though:

1. Mortal Kombat 11
Man I am so ready for this. I came to fighting games a bit too late to join in on MKX and the PC release wasn't great anyway. I'm hoping this time around the PC will have a thriving community!

2. The Outer Worlds
Obsidian's shot at Bethesda's latest entry / entries looks amazing. I can see how it'll turn out great so I'm super excited for it.

3. Crash Racing
I'm pretty sure this is going to be great. I won't play it but I'm ready to watch people go hard on this on Twitch.

The Obsidian entry is the first single-player game I'm interested in for a good while. The zaniness and gloss of the world really remind me of what old Fallout was about along with some of that new shine.

So what were your highlights from TGA? Did you watch it? Overwhelmed / underwhelmed?

the reveal and later the reaction videos on youtube of joker being announced in smash was the best. not a big smash fan, but this just made me feel hyped for the game, prompting me to buy it lol glad i did though its waaaaay funner then the wii u one

I used to watch but this year I couldn't care less. I'm all in for Game Awards Ceremony and I like Geoff effort and intention, but I think the show just miss the point completely...
It should be about celebrate the current released games, it was the oportunity to showcase every nominee in each category, so we all could see "how did I missed Celeste?/Now I must go buy a Switch and play Octopath Traveler.". People don't watch the Oscars... Those who watch are there to cheer for their favorites and also check out everything important that they did miss out. None would watch it for a teaser trailer of next year release.
It's okay to have some teaser and trailers, but the main event the celebration of current year games and the awards winners and the tech leaps and innovations, just don't make anysense to have a show live streaming if I need to read who won elsewhere.

I was watching YongYea streaming it, so for me the highlight was his reaction when God of War won GOTY. I was so happy for him!

The Outer Worlds was the only notable thing for me. Also the upset of God of War taking Game of the Year from Red Dead Redemption 2. Don't get me wrong, GoW is a fantastic game but RDR2 was one of the most full gaming experiences of a lifetime imo.

Excited that MK11 was announced. Hoping it does not fall into the Netherrealm vortex of people being really hype initially but then the playbase slowing dwindling in the first few months.

Of course the trailer music was a total abomination. I cannot believe noob saibot allowed this. The last MK game was great imo but it lacked legs online and died out fairly fast. The cpu community has kept up with some great mods to keep the fresh ideas coming. The furry thing irked me a little, because no republican i inow hates those things,let alone when combined? That aside these shows are pretty much ad space and sjw feeding grounds to get a few one liners against the President in. Yawns, not even creative,even for npc jokes. Love this forum!!! Shout out to Jeremy on his achievement and our path to follow!!!
