Also, the idea that you must progress to the top-tier vehicles to have fun is ridiculous. If you view the gameplay as a chore to get the top-tier vehicle you want, you might need to reconsider your game choice.
I personally disliked low tiers. I wouldn't have made it to the top of American tech tree if not for ridiculously cheap to repair premium tank I like playing.

If you are not willing to sit multiple hours per day to even get a slight sense of moving forward then this game is not for everybody and the amount of people this model appeals to will keep shrinking as developers are doubling down on discrimination of free players.

You forgot they are NOW forcing you to RESEARCH and BUY 5 vehicles from the previous tier for 1 vehicle of the upper tier? You are privileged if you have managed to unlock just what you wanted to play when freedom of choice was still a thing. Gaijin Entertainment is effectively screwing f2p players to push them towards premium currency/premium vehicles by introducing anti-consumer greed motivated changes like the one above.

Rewards were getting nerfed multipled times through the years. Techtrees were smaller too = less grind for specific vehicle then after you have everything unlocked grinding for single vehicle is not real grind anymore. Imagine being someone who starts playing now.

If you want to progress at regular speed, without premium it will take you long enough to completely lose interest in Warthunder.

It affects both but it's making earning as a free to play even worse. Before this change it was bad to progress for free now I do not think you can without owning premium account.

This redesign of the Critical Hit mechanic affects all players. Far from gamebreaking, but sometimes frustrating. Hope it'll get fixed in following patches.
