That's the thing though, sometimes I watch a video of a youtuber and an hour later I catch another youtuber quoting the same reddit post or article, paying attention to the same parts of the article/post but they always reach a slightly different conclusion or the time span separating their video couldn't allow one to copy the other. So yes, there is a lot overlap between youtubers. But it's different with Yong Yea, he's always THE LAST ONE to break a story (unless it's related to Hideo kojima...) and I'm talking up to 5 or 8 hours later, plenty of time to see other youtubers' videos.

I thought about something about an hour ago. Youtubers (like tim pool, sargon or the quartering) don't "go on the ground" to write the news, they basically rely on "regular journalists" to do the work for them. Maybe Yong Yea sees other youtubers as "regular gaming journalists"...

Which brings me to a potential interesting question : Is what sargon, tim pool and the quartering do (as well as others) considered as original creation ?
Yong Yea maybe is just doing the laziest form of news, even worse than reading word for word an article... He's copying people reading word for word articles...

Huuum I was wrong this whole time ? He's not "mean", just lazy as fuck... and the issue isn't so much whether what he does is morally wrong towards other people but rather plain lazy...

Maybe. I don't really watch him anymore and have really cut down on redundant gaming controversy channels. Regurgitating news, reading an article out loud and sharing the same sentiments isn't really what plagiarism is. It may make him unoriginal and derivative, but it's not taking specific wording and written works, to pass them off as your own.

What kind of reaction did you honestly expect ? People being like "OMG what an asshole !" ? Nobody believes accusation without proof (which was why the guy from IGN faced backlash, we had proof Filip Miucin copied significant portions of Boomstick's video).

I watch all the above mentioned YouTubers and I regularly get a sense of Deja Vu when the same topic is the focus across each of their videos. I've always chalked it up to the topic being discussed only has so many points to be made so each of the videos has the same flavor and flow. Plagiarism never crossed my mind.

Personally I don’t think assumptions like this should be made unless the work has been done and there is viable proof. In an era where people can be ruined by a mere accusation we should be real careful.

Frankly, I don't care. Many youtubers copy pewdiepie to some extent and no one cries foul. I doubt Yong would bother ripping off other youtubers to help create his vids.

As I've said, I don't care enough. Because let's be honest, it would take me ages to prove it. I would basically have to watch everything I've watched these past 15 days. Once I would find the videos, I would have to take notes and what not... I just don't care enough.
