Yong yea plagiarize ?

Guys, I don't care enough to do the homework so I leave this here if someone wants to do the job :

Since the beginning of the year, Yong Yea put out (to my knowledge) 3 videos that I think he's just stolen basically. Hitting the same points, in the exact same order and reaching the same conclusion as other youtubers I follow. Yes, I know, he covers the news so it leaves very little room to get creative. But the same points ? Same order ? Same conclusion ?

I follow multiple youtubers who cover gaming news, why would I bother with multiple sources if they all talk about the same thing ? Because they all tackle the news slightly differently and reach slightly different conclusions.

From what I could gather, he seems to plagiarize Heelsvsbabyface and Laymen Gaming, one is based in UK and the others (they are 2 guys) are in Australia... Maybe he thinks no one will find those youtubers.

Again, I watch several youtubers who treat similar topics on a daily basis, Yong Yea is the only who gives me this impression that I've already heard the exact same thing 5 or 8 hours prior. And this happened 3 times in 15 days...

I don't care enough, I've unsubscribed to him, a monotonous voice that regurgitates exact same points I've already heard 8 hours before ? No thanks.

Review Tech USA never retracted his story, apologized, clarified the situation but he did change the title though ^-^ Take just 20 seconds to check MTO's website... RTU used that as a source and ran with it ahahaha

No, now I think he's just kind of lazy. Youtubers (who talk about news) basically read articles and then make videos. Yong Yea, watch those videos and makes his videos... So, he's the equivalent of people who talk about the news when all they know about is what's been said on Facebook...

ReviewTechUSA did the same thing last month. He claimed that Soulja boy was being sued by Nintendo because he heard it from someone. He linked the article in the video but failed to read it. The article was fake, the whole website has been created in order to attract people and make money with the ads that are all over the website. Anyone could see that instantly by just looking at the site, ReviewTechUSA was acting so cocky in this vid ^-^ So embarrassing.

Is he copying other people work? I dont approve of it but i cant say i care about it either.
On other hand i only follow 1 youtube channel and has nothing to do with gaming so i dont even know if this is really happening or not.

You tell me, how do you find someone guilty without suspecting him in the first place ? You're a grandma, you see someone do something that appears to be illegal, do you try to find someone who can investigate (the police, in this case) or you take your magnifying glass and your trench coat and start running after the guy (remember, you're a grandma)? So grandma goes to the police... What does grandma tell ? Let's assume she thinks that person plagiarized someone else, so she has to explain that to the police... How does she do that ? If she says "I suspect him of doing x" (x being a crime), then according to you it's an accusation. So grandma has to explain to the police a potential crime without being able to name the crime...

So, try to re-imagine my first post now...

That's how it was supposed to be done ? Or are we suppose to shut up when we see something just because we're not the person that will catch the perp ? So grandma should just shut up ?

And you're using this forum, right ? Did you created it ? But you can use it ? So, sometimes you rely on other people to do something for you ? How is that different from me, asking if someone would be interested enough in doing something I'm not interested in doing ? This person could have more knowledge than me... Ever heard of 4chan who managed to locate someone by calculating his position based on the alignment of the stars (real story btw)? So, either you know how to do that yourself or you're screwed basically ? Or is it okay to ask for help ?

Sometimes I feel the conclusion they come up with is the only reasonable one. And since all of the youtubers I watch are reasonable, ever so often the conclusion is the same.

So if I have this right you don't care enough to any of the work but you care enough to come and make accusations with no evidence whatsoever. Ummmm, ok.

Also, you guys are not helping... I mean, if I was accusing anyone else (who wouldn't be guilty of what I'm accusing him), I'm pretty sure I would face a pretty huge backlash... Here, I'm saying that I think Yong Yea copies people and all I get is "whatev' man"...

I'll pick up on this because the rest is well-trodden ground and no-one else has pointed out the distinction.

YongYea covers news in the gaming world. Loads of YouTube channels do it and if you follow enough of them you'll find yourself wondering just who is copying who. Besides, for YouTube, the only time it actually is plagiarism is when they use video that's not covered by fair use terms or script lifting without credit. YongYea doesn't do that, he has his own style and he summarises info from other news outlets and provides his own take on it and has his own quirks. Is it relatively cheap and shallow? Yes, it is, but if you think that's plagiarism, then pretty much every gaming news YouTube channel is guilty of it to varying degrees and only those with industry contacts have a leg to stand on and only for those news aspects relating (to varying levels of directness) to said industry contacts. The fact of the news itself cannot be plagiarised, but his interpretation and assembly of said news to his presentation thereof is individual enough that it isn't copying. Hell, he could report something a few days late but since his style is his own, it still won't be plagiarism... he'll just be mocked for reporting old news, and rightly so because, as you mention, a few hours matters in this business of reporting gaming news. What's key is that the content of the news being reported cannot be plagiarised, merely repeated, by however many YouTube channels or online outlets. What they use to separate themselves is purely their style and individual interpretation of said news.

Now, media reviews also need to be distinct as justification of the what the review entails. However, they need to be distinct in both review style and review content, because the individual's full opinion of and reaction to the game under review must, by definition, be unique to said individual, or damn close to it. Philip Miucin, or however the fuck you spell his name, copied both the content and the style and got found out. That is plagiarism 'cos he ripped another reviewer's content and passed it off as his own. Vocabulary and capture was identical, so it was as cut and dry as you can get.

Most Gaming News Youtubers are just regurgitating info they heard elsewhere. Most of them don't have inside sources like Jeremy. So a lot of them are going to sound the same talking about the same subject. The only difference between a lot of them is the personality that they bring to the table.

Waiting a bit is probably advisable, even if you're just regurgitating and commentating. Example: you could be Dreamcastguy with a rant video out in 15 minutes talking about Spider-Man being downgraded, or you could have waited until release and watch technical analysis from experts, then chronicle the entire story and provide your perspective on it, which is likely to mirror the perspective of anybody with sense and parallel or incorporate sentiments from others.

He might very well be full blown cleanprincegaming nowadays, I wouldn't know, but in regards to the general line of thought you're having: what you're saying commentators do is what every free thinking person should do. Read lots of information, partake in the viewpoints of others, and form an opinion. Some people make a platform out of it.

Starting to seem like a stealth new media vs establishment media thread with that segue into a different vein of youtubers.
