According to VGCharts and their charts gap comparison the PS4 is just 6 million units behind what the Wii was at the same time of its life cycle and will most likely pass it before June which will set the PS2 firmly in the sights of the PS4. Will the PS4 ever reach the PS2s heights? I am inclined to say that I dont think so but with games like Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, Days Gone, Dreams etc still to come, I am also not going to say that it is impossible.

Aside from Killzone, the PS4 has no games worth my money. Kinda sketchy on God of War since I heard that they sold out to the NPCs, that and its not the GoW I grew up with (no blood or dismemberment?! COME ON!) Hence, it will never reach PS2 numbers. That and the PS2 was also advertised as a DVD player in a time when new storage was introduced hence, right place, right time thing to it.Whatever you love, I probably hate.

Thats unfortunate because you are missing out on a whole host of fantastic games like U4, Horizon ZD, Bloodborne, Spiderman etc.... As for GOW, I was its biggest critic from TC Carson not being Kratos' voice anymore to the direction the game was going in and let me tel you I wasnt just simply pleasantly surprised by it, I was blown away by it and now it is hands down my game of the generation.

CevaQ those other exclusives didn't impress me too. Guess it's just not for me. Maybe I'm just too specific about my tastes and the PC just happens to have more titles that I like. That said, I did want to buy a PS3 for Killzone trilogy, Condemned 2, Army of Two and a series of smaller titles like Supremacy MMA and Splatterhouse.

I don't think any console at this point will reach PS2 sales. It's already being rumored that the PS5 is right around the corner so we'll start seeing a sharp drop in PS4 sales soon.
Will it outsell the Wii this year? Most likely. All we can do is wait and see.

I'd say the PS4 is on its way out in the sale department. They've got their core audience and more will sell, but we likely won't see any huge surge in sales with the PS5 peeking around the corner and Sony's recent stance on censorship is driving some out.
I don't think it will match/beat Wii's numbers.

Well once upon a time I thought PS4 was the best console to play japan role playing games..... O well now I’m sticking to the switch and I don’t think those Japanese developers are going to forgive Sony for being backstabbed. Now to be more on topic I think the switch will out sell the PS4 as the hybrid console is extremely appealing an dit have a large Indy library and most importantly less censorship than PS4. I am only sad that kingdom Hearts 3 is not on the switch but knowing that kingdom hearts game already appeared on Nintendo hardware before they perhaps will port it to the switch with potential upgrades.

I doubt anything will reach PS2 heights. Like an earlier post said, right place & right time. It was a very opportune console that did actually offer a lot for the cash, extras and such. But to the topic... PS4, in my opinion, if anything drastically undersold. I've run into more PS4 haters than supporters but if they're only 6mill behind Wii then they did something right. Wii was gimmicky and inventive and drew lots of people in with its design and gaming experience.
I am more a fan of PS titles than Nintendo ones personally. I've never cared about Mario, DK or Zelda games. Give me Twisted Metal any day (though that reboot kinda sucked) over Mario Kart. But in defense of Wii, it was hands down THE best console for rail shooters. Using the Wii mote on rail shooters like House of the Dead or even Umbrella Chronicles was incredibly fun, and it was accurate. I don't think PS4 will reach Wii numbers though. This may be as close as they get because, to be honest, it's still a bit overpriced as well even today. Not sure how well it sold around the holidays...
It'll be interesting come June to see what the final numbers are but my guess is no it won't surpass Wii.
