  • Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to PC in November

PC gamers will finally get to play RDR2, if they use Stadia, Epic or Rockstars own launcher.

Steam won't get it till December. I just went to Facebook and chewed Rockstar out for it. I doubt they will care. I won't be buying it till it hits Steam. I have already played the game on the Xbox and I got it for free when I bought the system back in April. But now I have to see videos of people playing the PC version all over YouTube cause Rockstar wants to be a d**k about Steam.

I mean it's only December and at least it's not a year. But it's really f**king stupid that it won't be on Steam till December. It should be on all the launchers at the same time.

So f**k Rockstar. I won't be buying it till it gets on Steam. I am sure it will sell really well on Epic, Stadia and their own launcher. Cause you know 95% of the PC gaming community is using those. /s

Anyway November the 5th is the release date. I imagine December the 5th is the day it will hit Steam.

This is an archived link to a PC gamer article about it. I am just using this as proof so people don't think I am making shit up. lol

I was excited for this game because I love the wild west setting and with being on PC, the modding community could provide the game with fun enhancements for free. However, between treating the fans as consumers instead of gamers, Take-Two sending lawyers after modders and shoving socialist political propaganda in the player's face, this game has become a hard pass for me.

I'm not even going to bother sailing the high seas for it.

Yeah, I felt that too from time to time also. There were some missions where I thought; "I'd rather not do it this way".

You know those people Jeremy rails on in his videos, the people that muster fake outrage as a reason they won't buy something when they were never going to buy it anyway? You do realise that...well....that's you, right? You are one of those people?

RDR2 is an amazing game. It is such an achievement in story telling and character development. No game I can think of even comes close to RDR2, and this is coming from someone that only recently bought it because I thought RDR was "meh". If you're telling me you're not going to buy it because of false claims about propaganda and (probably) false claims about what happened to that youtuber then you are the one who is putting politics above everything, you're the one pushing agendas, you're the one pushing fake narratives.

Yes. You are what you hate

In all fairness behind his "lol why are they so angry" attitude he displays in his videos Jeremy feeds a lot on the outrage culture himself.

I've played it once, I will not play it again. The same with most rockstar games.
They don't release any single player DLC, choosing just to focus on the online mode so I have no need to play it again. I thought the story was fine, but forgettable for me.

Something I have disliked with rockstar games for a while now is how the character moves, always seems awkward and slow. They always have the turning circle of a bus for some reason.

I don't understand people "boycott" of games, it rarely, if ever, works.

Yeah, there's defo no replay in it. The only thing you could maybe do is play it as a different morality, but that's not going to make me play it again.

I played it and completed the game on the Xbox one. Not 100% complete but pretty close. I am at 92% complete on the Xbox. But I like the game enough that playing through it again won't be that big of a deal. Of course I got it for free. So this would be my first time buying it.

I really want to see what it looks like on the PC and see how well it runs. The Xbox One S only plays the game at 860p. My PC will be 1080p and hopefully a some what steady 60fps. I am really interested in the graphics enhancements. There will also supposedly be some new story mode DLC content for the PC version. Not a lot but something about new bounty missions and something else. I heard if you buy it on the Rockstar launcher then you will get it for free. I guess when it comes to Steam I will have to buy it. It Sucks but as long as it's not priced ridiculously I am fine with that. I prefer single player story driven content.

I can understand why someone wouldn't want to buy it again.

LLLLOOOOOOOOLLLL 92% = 100 hours, 100% = 250 hours. Every final percent is gonna cost you hours. I know, I did it

If you had to buy the system to get a "free" game, was it really free?

I look forward to watching some mod videos in the future. The game already looked absolutely incredible in 4K HDR on the X, and even just vanilla 4K 60 would probably be a sight to behold.

I think it will be more of a challenge for texture artists in the modding community than GTAV was. You've got a little more leeway in a modern city setting to just "reflective surface cars!!!!" stuff without really taking the rustic beauty and organic cohesion of the world into account.

The mods people can make for this game has me pretty interested as well. Though I never got into mods with the GTA games. RDR2 is not GTA 5 or even 4. So a terrible model of some comic book character just won't look right.

I agree. Goofball mods don't really do much for me in general and it will look particularly out of place here, but it gets people interested in mods as an entry point, I guess.

Dub-Z it would be nice if some people with the talent and abilities could add some cool Wild West stuff to the game. Maybe some story driven mods. But I doubt that will happen. Maybe RDO will tank and Rockstar will do some story DLC. But that's even less likely. lol

So anyway I have been hearing that people that have tried to play GTA 5 recently have had to download the Rockstar launcher even if they have bought and own the game through Steam. So it sounds like Rockstar is doing a Ubisoft type of thing.

Where you can buy and install all their recent games on Steam but if you want to actually play them you need Uplay. Which is really dumb. It's one of the things that made me hold off on buying certain games. That, the price and that Ubisoft does a lot of garbage. I know you can play Far Cry 2 without Uplay but Far Cry 3 and up require you have Uplay installed.

So if this is the case I may just buy RDR2 on the Rockstar launcher and get it over with. Of course not till I see some reviews and videos about the games performance. I have a feeling the game will be fine cause it's based on the same engine as GTA 5 and I managed to

get GTA 5 to be playable on GTX 750 Ti, so it will probably be well optimized. But I want to see if it's a good port or is it garbage. Is it a sloppy rush job cause RDO is turning out to be a let down or did they do a good job with it? That's what I want to hear. I don't know if the Rockstar launcher allows refunds but I doubt it. I imagine it will be you buy it and you are stuck with it. Maybe we will patch it up in a week.

I really don't want another launcher though. But I haven't played BF 3 or 4 in a while so I may just uninstall them and Origin. Then I will just go back to having 4 instead of 5. This whole launcher exclusivity thing is a real annoyance. Though it's not exclusive and it will be on Steam in December. But I don't see the point in having to use two launchers to play one game.

I know some people will bring up Epic and their Fortnite launcher. Like I said before Rockstar isn't going around throwing GTAO money at publishers and developers for exclusivity deals. Which is my main issue with Epic and the EGS. I mean there are others. But if they stopped buying exclusivity rights I wouldn't be as bothered. Sure I would still think it's garbage and I wouldn't use it.

But RDR2 is a Rockstar game and it's their launcher. So there isn't much you can do about it other than not buy the game. Of course this only matters if Rockstar is making people use their launcher to play their games even if it's on another launcher. Of course this will effect people using the Fortnite launcher as well. If it's true.

I will download GTA 5 later and try to start the game up and see what happens.

To be fair all rockstar games always had a launcher incorporated. I don't recall the name right now

Balta666 I don't remember having to open up a launcher to play GTA 5 in the past. I remember just clicking on the desktop icon and going right to the game. Unlike Far Cry 3 or 5 where I have to start Uplay before I can play the games I bought.

Ok, I checked and what I meant is social club that you had to log in to start the game. It was not a launcher per we but it is pretty much the same thing in the long run

I will either buy it on Rockstar's launcher or Steam.
