SwordsmanAdraygus Yeah the guy who made the series got fired after 3 (or quit, who knows with these corporate resignations), so the other two were more trying to recapture the magic than anything else. I'd just emulate them, it's all PS1 and 2

    @Ryan_

I honestly didn't even know they had a 4 and a 5. I thought it only had 3 A friend of mine told me about episode 3, It seems he didn't know about a 4 and 5. I was pretty surprised when you said that. I looked 4 on Amazon and 3 but they are pretty expensive on there unfortunately.

My brother owns the first game and second one.

Well the definition of a 'Role Playing Game' is not what it once was...
In my day RPGs were mostly Dungeon Crawlers like:
Captive, Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder etc...

But now if a game is not a 'Point & Click' or 'FPS' it could be an RPG ?

My experience is that even in the games industry most decision makers have pretty shallow games literacy that doesn't extend beyond Mario, Zelda, CoD, Fortnite and whatever mobile game is currently making the most money. :/

    RPGs for life!

For me, the question is easy to answer. every RPG is an RPG I like that no one I know has played, as I live in a place where gaming culture isn't a thing, and the few people that do game are fragheads who think gaming starts and ends with CoD and Pube G.

Weirdly enough, there's 2 really good mobile RPG's for free called Inotia 3 and Inotia 4. No, 1 and 2 don't really exist as far as I know. They even go as far as making the new game+ into continuing storylines, which really blew my mind. I still haven't seen a game that does that yet.

To answer that end question... Robinson's Requiem, even tho it's not a full fledged rpg, there are elements of it but it was much more like a "die in the weirdest way possible" simulator at times.

I liked dragon's dogma, i felt the real time - on the go - climbing on huge monster system to attack their weak spots was pretty revolutionnary or innovative as a way to realistically attack and hunt huge monsters...

I probably played almost every jrpg, even tho i kind of slowed down these past few years. i also played a lot of korean mmorpg in the craze of 2003 - 2007 when i was a student and couldn't be allowed to pay for subs to play world of warcraft, tantra online, lineage 2, priston tale, also played a bit of final fantasy 11 when it came out, these were good times.

It's a great list! In particular Star Ocean 2 is one of my all time favorites. Love the talent and crafting system. Liked all the characters and liked that you had to choose between Opera and Ashton, Leon and Dias. Moment to moment gameplay was really fun and the story was pretty interesting. I like that fantasy/sci-fi combo. 3 was really good, too, and 1. Didn't care for 4... didn't even play 5

1 is decently good, 2 is a masterpiece, 3 is really good, 4 is terrible, 5 is about as good as one. 2>>>3>>1>5>>>4. I liked Xenosaga a lot. I felt like by 3 they were finally hitting their stride... too bad it ended with 3!

As far as I know, none or most of my friends haven't played Xenosaga. I haven't played Suikoden before, but I do have.it, need to start it up some time.

    Totally agreed.

The only time I've come across as many people who had played these sorts of games is when on a specialist forum specifically for them. It's really nice to see a general gaming forum with an already strong RPG community, especially when it's compromised of people who have played some of the genre classics such as the aforementioned Suikoden 1-2.

Serial killers? Lol don't be absurd. I'm sure there's a few spree killers here but nothing as untoward as a serial killer.
