I've always been very fond of the NPC mods which give you fully scripted and somewhat interesting NPCs with their own side quests and dialogue.

I just can't play Skyrim without these mods (besides other basic needed mods).

)> Shut Up, It's Just Magic ( Steam Workshop)
[ This makes Npc's stop complaining of your summoned skeletons, minions, etc. Cause Npc's don't like conjuration magic, it gets annoying very fast if you love playing a Conjurer Mage. ]

)> Inorra The Cute Khajiit Follower (Steam Workshop)
[ I always end up installing her every time I come back to play Skyrim. You need to save this follower from a Giant and comes with her own mini tent. I love her. ]

)> Hunter's Cabin of Riverwood (Steam Workshop and Nexus)
[ This house can be get early game before you move to a better house. Also it's gorgeous. ]

)> Random Alternate Start (Steam Workshop and Nexus). Not mistake with live another life.
[ This mod it's just way 2 good to be ignored. Even more fun if you spawn in middle of a bandit camp (good luck getting out of there alive). ]

)> Other normal mods / dlc size mods / lewd mods / armor weapons mods / sound mods / etc.
[ Just honey on top of the delicious sweet roll. ]

( ´・ω・`)_且~ Would you care to join me for a cup of tea?
        Sips Tea Majeeeeestically!

I have a 3d texture mod for the terrain and plants, looks great. Also Skyrim Bigger Trees is a MUST HAVE ALWAYS!!!

Also the Monster mod plus all the extra monsters INCLUDING NEMESIS AND PYRAMID HEAD! Nemesis is a bitch to fight, but fun!

I have over 150mods so I can't say anyone is my favorite they all work together.

I have a moon jump mod which is a lot of fun, there's one that turns all dogs into border collies (I really like collies) and another on that adds wearable lanterns, unfortunately the last two don't seem to be on the workshop anymore but I still have the files. I also have automatic variants, one of the many mods that makes dogs shut up (Doesn't mute them entirely but really lowers their volume), one that adds more types of dragon, another that increases their spawn rate and one that gives them more health, and two for bards, one to make them only play instrumental songs (If I hear ragnar the red one more time I will scream!) and one that adds more songs for them to play.
Chickens are quite possibly the most vicious creatures I have encountered.

oh yeah the dragons difficulty increases, I've used them before but never stuck with it, think I will add them to my list in future! Dragons should be nearly unkillable juggernaughts that make me want to flee or hide, or hide then flee and jump off waterfalls.

I didn't mod Skyrim or Oblivion, but I heavily modded Morrowind, after playing it a while as vanilla. I'm glad to see there's still a great modding community going though.

Dont forget companion mods like inigo and viljia. They make the game seem more vibrant too especially when your adventuring

On PS4 there isnt nearly as many of the good mods like Bruma. But some that I really like that were available are project hippie, alidons ultimate armory, and alternate start.

Definintely the Dragonspear and Sword of the Ancient Tongues weapon mods. Whenever I've had to do a complete reinstall of my game (an occurence that happens more often than I'd like) those two swords are among the first mods I install.

Immersive weapons and armour mods- I can't do without these.
The Book of UUNP gives vanilla armour some great variety too.
HDT Physics because.... of course. ^_^
Midas Magic fills out my spellbook nicely.
......And about 50 other mods I wouldn't dare admit to using on a public forum.

I always finish a run at "godlike archmage" So I usually run a fuckton of "add spells" mods like apocalypse, shadow spells pack and elemental magic. I also add magic pose mods so that when I stand with a spell in hand I don't look like I'm crouched over like a fucking gremlin and I stand tall like the god damn motherfucking dragonborn.
I am five and a half feet of pure poutine-fueled rage.

I love modding Skyrim, but I think the one that I enjoyed the most is Personalized Music, through which I replaced all of the music with music from Zelda
