I'm looking forward to it. I sold my 360 version in anticipation for it. I'm getting it for the Switch because I'm damn certain I'm going to end up putting several hundred hours into it.

Well, the battle systems are similar in all Tales games, it is kind of one of their trademarks.
You know like Dragon Quest is ALWAYS turn based, The Tales of Games ALWAYS have this running back and forth in a small area, using special attacks that cost AP's, learn how to block on the correct time. You kind of need to learn the trick in these games, but ones you get it it can actually be quite entertaining.

Though I will say, Zesteria and Berseria made the mistake of over complicating something that should have been simple. Both in combat AND equipment upgrades... It kind of sucks because this stuff wasn't that good in Zesteria, they had done it better before and then they just copy paste the SAME damn thing unto Berseria.
Dude.... You know that didn't work well. So why were you being lazy asses copy pasting it? .... Geesh.

Glad it's coming. It was one of the only 360 games I cared about that isn't on the backwards compatibility list.

Played Zestria and Berseria. Zesteria sucked, not a huge fan of Berseria's battle system but still decent and loving the story so far. I'm probably gonna buy Vesperia but not at full price.

You could just pick up a 360 for like fifty bucks. Lots of good exclusives on it.

Never played a Tales of... game before. Never played more than a couple JRPGs until FF13 was released on the 360. Got me hooked, but damn those are some long games.

Maybe I'll give it a look if I can find a used copy later down the road.

Well tip for the future if you like the game.

There are two newer games which would probably be the ones you would go for checking out newest Tales of Games.

    "Tales of Zestiria." from 2015
And "Tales of Berseria." from 2017.
And yes, they usually come out with a new Tales release roughly every second year, it is now 2019 afterall.

Anywho, visually Zestiria and Berseria looks the same, they use the same engine and gameplay vise they are mostly the same as well.
There are some mechanics that are different, but it is very minor.

How-ever as it happens, the strength in any Tales game is always the story and Zestiria has a very weak story, one of the weakest in a tales game.

So what I am saying is... If you decide to pick up Zesteria, please do not let the medi ocre experience deter you from this franchise.
Berseria is a HUGE improvement pure story wise, way more interesting going way more interesting gray places.

How-ever, if you are really interested in the stories... Well... Zesteria and Berseria is actually connected. Berseria works as a kind of prequel to Zesteria taking place one thousand years before Zestiria.
So while you have brand new original characters, there are certain things they explain in Zesteria and Berseria kind of just expects of you to have played Zestiria so you know this... Sorry for the long ramble, you have probably forgotten ALL about this ones you played "Vesperia." lol.

But yeah, if you like the game. I am sure plenty of people here me included would love to help point you in the direction of the good ones.

Hey not all of us own a x-box 360.

Also this version of the game has added content not in the original game.

Flynn is now going to be a permanent party member not just temporary. There is an entirely brand new party member, a girl called Patty.

There are dungeons and story content only later added, TWICE as much voice acted dialogue as in the original release. Even if you do own the X-box 360 release there actually is a lot of new shit on the new one.

Though I do suppose if you are happy about the one you got it's fine, someone like you should probably just wait until it goes on sale if you are curious.

I feel ya man! That's how I feel.

It seems to me this is actually the tales game with the most extensive world and world building, from what I heard it is also the Tales game with the biggest world map, and that is BEFORE all the changes made to "Ultimate edition." for the ps3. which will also be included in this one.

Well I hope this one will be a good one to start on, hopefully giving you interest in the rest of the franchise.

No not at all, people who reads a lot often had something that ignited them.

For me it was Harry Potter, something I share with SO many people.
I have a lot of friends though, for whom it was in fact or game OR pen and paper role playing, they learned to read, and learned English, solely for the sake of being able to read those Dungeon and Dragons rule books.
It is REALLY neat to see that nerd entertainment can have such a positive affect on people.

Heck, it is not the same but I had kind of a similar experience. I was kind of in a depressive period, I had stopped reading anything or even playing anything, then a friend got a game for me. I hadn't asked for it, didn't even know of it.
That game was "Ni No Kuni Wrath of the white witch." and it was EXACTLY what I needed at that moment in time, it just... It reminded me of everything that made me love fantasy and fiction in the first place, it made me so happy and cheerful and I started picking up books again.

So yeah, I totally get it.

Tales of Vesperia is one of the few games in the Tales series I have not played, but I have watched it be played once on YouTube and once on Twitch. To be able to play it myself this Friday and to, for the first time, see the content that was added to it later that never made it to the West, is very exciting. I cannot wait to give it a shot.
