I am very excited for the definitive Edition. Tales of Vesperia is my favorite game. It got my into the Tales series, into JRPGs and into reading actually. When I played the game in 2009/2010 I was enthrolled by the characters and story that I wanted to read fantasy and sci-fi novels, as the books in school were boring.
I know it sounds weird to say a video game got me into read.
anyway, I'm very excited for this game and it will be taken up most of my year.

Whaaat?!
How can you forget Zelos?! God's gift bestowed upon the world, (according to his own testimony.) Also keeps flirting with Lloyd the exact same way he flirts with the women which is hilarious.
Jade is awesome, he has zero craps to give about anything and a twisted sense of humor. That is what makes him great.

Berseria is a vast improvement over Zestiria, the story is WAY better and way more interesting.
The only thing I dislike about it... more serious this time... Is that they copy pasted the equipment system from Zesteria. That system SUCKS, it makes no god damn sense!
Equip equipment and it does... SOMETHING as you level up and I got no idea what it is supposed to do. It really does take the fun out of saving up Gald for the new equipment and then having to choose.
But well... Story is WAY better in Berseria, it is really good. Raven is in fact a very good main character, WAY better than Milla from Xillia.
.... Also gotta love the reasoning behind her, ahem, revealing clothes. Yeah it is explained, the reason is she was thrown into a prison as a fourteen year old, two years after when she breaks out she is till wearing the same clothes but is past giving a crap and just throws random armor over it so she can go murder stuff already.
That is one way to explain a boob window I suppose... <_<

never played berseria. my last was zestriia. Lloyd is probably a top 10 hero for me

Jesus. I forgot about Zelos, lol. Its been so long! Last time I played Symphonia was on the actual Cube. Jade was kinda funny in the same way too.

Well I already stated several times that Abyss is my favorite tales game.
And well, I don't mind saying it again. I love it! The story, the characters, the world!
Not only is the party members amazing, but also ALL the side characters, our group of villains are all great individual characters, ah it's lovely.
And Luke is my favorite Tales protagonist, he is such an ASS in the beginning, and it's hilarious. Also I like the game actually makes me understand why he acts like that, so you do sympathies with him even if he does act kind of like an asshole.
It is also one of the few Tales games I can keep interpreting on. New stuff I realize like... Spoiler, Luke is acting like a ten year old BECAUSE HE IS TEN YEARS OLD!
Is that intentional? It might be, if it is that is a great detail! We figure out... Oh, he looks sixteen but he is actually ten, because he was created an empty clone already looking six years old.
Jade is also one of the best troll characters.
ALL Tale games need a party member whom is kind of a troll. In Symphonia it is Zelos, in Abyss it is Jade, in Zestiria it is Edna, in Berseria it is Magilou (Second favorite troll character.)
He, the troll character is usually one of the best characters XD
But yeah, I only played Symphonia ones. I played Abyss multiple times. Uh I also like the old people in the inventors city! A city run completely by old grumpy people, that's funny.

Abyss is an underrated Tales game imo. People ate it up back in the day. we just got done with Symphonia, which at the time was a GCN exclusive. PlayStation people were hunger for a new Tales. And we got Abyss. But for some reason, it doesnt make the top lists these days and doesnt get the highest scores... i thought it was great!
-
Well I played it myself much later than it was originally released, I played the re-release on the PS3 a few years back.
And yeah, I could tell it hadn't aged that well. I think maybe Abyss feels like it aged better because I was playing it on the 3DS, and less good graphics are fine for the 3DS.
But yeah, it has not aged well. The story and characters are all fine, but the world map and combat is kind of.... Man that world map, it is just empty space! So much empty polygon space. The world doesn't feel lived in at all because of it, heh.
Again though the charm to me in these games are the stories and characters, I also like how they are always pretty good at delivering nuanced messages. Like in Symphonia in the beginning it's just. "Okay, we just need to reverse the mana flow and we will be okay! It's honkey... Wait, reversing the mana flow will destroy this other world? BALLS! Wait what, to even do that we need to sacrifice Collette, and is already starting slowly transforming her into something that isn't human? What the shit? Oh wait everything we told was a lie and literately there is no way out of this shit without facing MAJOR consequences. If we don't act people will suffer, if we DO act people will also suffer, and this entire system is very delicate and if we mess it up everyone is going to die! BALLS!"
I like that build up, that it starts innocent enough and then it builds and builds and you realise what you did in the beginning was actually bad and now you need to fix it.
I am rambling, I guess the point gets across. The story lacks nothing.... Graphics, gameplay and combat how-ever? ... eeehhhhhhhh.
But well, if Vesperia is about as good as "Tales of Xillia." that's still a pretty fun charming time. Tales of Xillia is by no means perfect, it has one of the weaker stories in a tales game. But it is a good old fun time.
Then there is tales of Xillia 2 which is just depressing...

I think the fanboys who slept on this game because they didn't want a 360 are going to be pretty disappointed in Vesperia. But you ever hear testimony from people who went back and played the likes of Symphonia after so long? They are left wondering what the big deal is. These aren't bad games, but by modern JRPG and general video game standards go, its a bit lacking by standards. Still a good game at its core though. I might grab it on sale down the line. Hoping for a $10 or $15 purchases at Black Friday or something.

Well! I live ALL alone in my own three room apartment so I got plenty of wall space!
..... I am so alone.

Heh Symphonia is great, I think that is one of the funniest games.
Zelos being a math genius ftw. I also love how randomn it is. "Woah! Zelos is actually super smart! No wait... He is good at math and nothing else... he actually kind of suck... oh well."
Lol.
You know what my biggest complain is about Tales of Berseria? ... NO return of the butt ugly wanted posters! I mean, that is one of the funniest running gags in the franchise. And now you have a game where you actually play as the villain! Sort of, you are wanted by the entire world.
Why isn't there a butt ugly hand drawn poster of velvet where she just have massive fangs and big messy hair and stuff?

vesperia is my second favorite behind symphonia. great cast of characters

TheDorkyDane Best of it is the price, only 59.99€, cheaper than many games standard versions.
Indeed, im sure there will be plenty of merch for the new KH. Either from Square Enix or Disney.
Posters is not my thing, specially because i dont have that much free wall space lol
-
Oh wow, that premium edittion looks sick.
Art book AND sountrack, now that is what I am talking about! I like the pin badges as well, I could see myself put them in my summer hat.
The stickers and card game are more. "Meh." though
Huh, if it was available to me for a reasonable price I MIGHT have bought it.
Well, I am pretty sure I will be able to buy TONS of KH merch soon enough, so I can get exactly the stuff I want instead of what they happen to put in the special release box's.
I already got an Axel and Roxas figure hanging around in my collection, and a tiny steel kingdom key, it's pretty neat.
I actually also ordered a wall poster with the front cover of KH 3, the one where everybody is just chilling out on the top of a building watching the sunrise. I actually really like that cover!
I love how calm and relaxed it is, and it looks hand drawn.
I don't like a lot of modern covers on movies or games, they all look generic and well, looks cheap on the wall. This one though... Is really nice.
