I'm slightly worried about the linear campaign, but other than that, I have high hopes for it.

I rarely get excited about games prior to release any more. I have seen too many games get hyped, only to turn out to be garbage on release - been burned too many times. Currently, the only game I'm actively excited for is Cyberpunk 2077; there are a few others I'm looking forward to, but always with skepticism and tampered expectations. I stopped buying Early Access games because, more often than not, they never got finished and the developers leave it forever uncompleted because they've got their money ... the same way AAA studios work, now, which is why I no longer preorder.

Obsidian is competing to see who makes the ugliest women in video games, they are trying to defeat the potato faces of Fallout.

I think the characters look okay. Probably somewhat of an unpopular opinion here but I would like more realistic looking faces instead of photogenic model dolls with glowing skin.

Got to be careful when doing 3D Character in a game, the number of polygons can effect performance when a mesh smoother is applied and model is rigged. I'm not a good 3D artist or profess to be, but i do dabble with 3D studio max and some 3D based scripting and even my 1080gtx card can be tested when up against an unoptimised 3D math(US)maths(UK) nightmare.

When a passable good looking game can work on a potato then it opens the door for people on most machines to experience the game.

Character design and polygon count are different things. Games had attractive looking characters 10-15 years ago, it's not a function of computing power. Ugly is ugly, in 10k polys and in 1 million polys as well.

True, i remember playing X-rebirth and all the character designs in that were Ugly, there was even a mod to make them a bit more presentable.

In real life, men are normal or ugly, and women are normal or beautiful. When you see a game where most of the women are normal or ugly, something is going wrong in the design.

70% of women look like this, normal women in the witcher 3

Less than 10% of women look like this, skyrim mod of few polygons... you can see that polygons

hopefully obsidian releases a demo for the outer worlds, so maybe unofficial modders can see what they can or cannot do to add mods to the game. I have faith in the Nexus Modding Community for more entertainment, like how they helped FO3, FNV, FO4, TES4, TES5 last as long as they did.
