  • Obsidian's The Outer Worlds looks great, but...

(I edited this topic to be more TOS compliant.)

I have a feeling something will happen to it during development that'll make me not want to support it. Since 2014, this has happened to several games that I had interest in, such as Xenoblade Chronicles X and Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness. Anyone who followed the development of those games will know exactly what I'm talking about. But perhaps some of you think I''m being paranoid, so tell me how I'm right or wrong for being concerned.

    Please?

"SJWs," aka retards of society, isn't politics. Feminism isn't political. Nazism isn't political. These are social. Just sayin.

I mean, as long as they're not in your face with that stuff, I'm not gonna get upset or irked over it.

That's what i took away from the you tube interview and my understanding of the rules. Discuss if it affects the quality of the game you are talking about, DON'T just go off on a rant and soap box about politics. its hard not to talk about it in some games (especially recent games) with out touching lightly on it.

We can certainly hope so, i think it will be spared for the most part because it lacks a traditional cast for the SJW types to be mad about. from what I've seen in trailers and what not the world is diversely populated to begin with and you have a bog standard captain planet squad of races and genders as companions. I honestly don't see what they can complain about in an open world RPG like this. I remain hopeful that this game will break the quagmire of shitty games (in the majority i know a few jems came out this year) we all seem to be stuck in.

TES3 too. Long live The Nexus!

hopefully obsidian releases a demo for the outer worlds, so maybe unofficial modders can see what they can or cannot do to add mods to the game. I have faith in the Nexus Modding Community for more entertainment, like how they helped FO3, FNV, FO4, TES4, TES5 last as long as they did.

In real life, men are normal or ugly, and women are normal or beautiful. When you see a game where most of the women are normal or ugly, something is going wrong in the design.

70% of women look like this, normal women in the witcher 3

Less than 10% of women look like this, skyrim mod of few polygons... you can see that polygons

Just wait for reviews to come in if you are unsure.

True, i remember playing X-rebirth and all the character designs in that were Ugly, there was even a mod to make them a bit more presentable.

Character design and polygon count are different things. Games had attractive looking characters 10-15 years ago, it's not a function of computing power. Ugly is ugly, in 10k polys and in 1 million polys as well.

I think the characters look okay. Probably somewhat of an unpopular opinion here but I would like more realistic looking faces instead of photogenic model dolls with glowing skin.

Obsidian is competing to see who makes the ugliest women in video games, they are trying to defeat the potato faces of Fallout.
