Worst RPG Fandom?

Without a doubt, I think Runescape has the worst fandom.
I have watched a streamer get called all kinds of disgusting things, and hit with multiple bot bombs during a single stream, simply because he tried Runescape, but he wasn't playing the version that those people like.
Then those people started fighting with the people who liked the version being played, and it ended up degrading into hundreds of people (who only came because of Runescape) hurling racist shit at each other so much that the mods couldn't keep up with it all and had to put the chat into sub-only mode (which the streamer hates doing, because he is a variety streamer that has a community) until he finally just said "fuck it" and stopped streaming.
Undertale is a close second though.
Those 2 games' fandoms go so far beyond simply being toxic, they are sycophants trying to force everyone to believe that the game they worship is the greatest work in history. The mental instability, combined with zealotry that is rampant in those fandoms is not only disturbing, it is dangerous.

I think the only other one I can think of (every online game has some sort of toxic people on it) would be DOTA 2. I tried it for a bit as something to kill some time with between playing League of Legends (back when I had a PC) and unlike LoL where you were kind of expected to be somewhat human DOTA 2 didn't have any system that regulated that so there were people on there that would basically tell new people to either "put up or shut up" or to "uninstall the game because your crap" kind of mentality. In LoL I can only think of maybe a handful of times we had a toxic player on our team and we all just slapped a report pop on them and next thing you know they are getting a suspension for failure to commit to "Sportsmanlike conduct" so LoL did try to keep that kind of behavior down as well as allowing player reviews of other players, which helped but could be exploited too. DOTA 2 on the other hand...yeah it was pretty much a big pile of...well you get the picture.

Undertale especially! It was that fandom that made me stay away from fandoms in general, since all of them have the potential to become toxic. The Undertale community almost ruined the series for me.Originally posted by Star Magician View PostThe only bad ones I've come into contact with are the Undertale and Fire Emblem fandoms.

This because they will excuse the worst of the franchise, not because FF is big/popular, I'm aware and I love FF overall, but things like XIII, XV, and some of their choices in handling the franchise have been poor. I'm always fearful that (the FF part of Square) will infect Dragon Quest.Originally posted by Spect3r View PostThats easy, Final Fantasy

Maybe a little of both.Originally posted by FinalMasterM View PostThis because they will excuse the worst of the franchise, not because FF is big/popular, I'm aware and I love FF overall, but things like XIII, XV, and some of their choices in handling the franchise have been poor. But i agree that a lot of it comes down to how insanely they will defend it, regardless of how bad it actually gets.Forum about Collector Editions, Limited Editions, Game Collectibles, Statues, OST's
In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very unhappy and has widely been seen as a bad move.

Yeah, I'd definitely say Undertale and FF. I, personally, haven't had any experiences with the Undertale fandom but I know friends who have. Some crazy things in that one. FF, to be honest I've only had a few experiences with but those few were pretty bad. Haven't heard/seen much on the Fire Emblem side. Any good stories?
