If the Unreal Engine wasn’t free to use while you are developing a game, I would so buy the game just for the Aurora Toolset to create a bunch of modules with it.
That was the best part of the game, IMO.

If they do, who cares.
It has the Aurora Toolset where people can create their own adventures, totally controlled by the creator, so fuck the official campaign and go straight for another creative person’s ideas.
Makes you wonder why BioWare doesn’t release new tool sets where you can create your own Mass Effect and Dragon Age adventures. Maybe they don’t want to see how the fans shame them now.

I found the original campaigns kinda boring.
But that was just one part of the fun for NWN. The player made content was amazing. I remember this series called the Penultima series, it was just one great big sarcastic joke in 20+ hours of play in 10 modules - parodying real life in the engine. I loved it.
My friends on the Interplanes say all my equipment is L33t!

Most definitely , i lost my original cds.
Got the version from beamdog and gotta say it was alot of fun still as an adult

Does the EE have the same problems as the BG EE? New SJW characters and altering old characters to include current year style virtue signalling? I know it's easy enough to ignore, but if I'm going to rebuy the same game again I'd rather not have to deal with any of that crap.
I still remember the first time I played NWN. I was a dwarf warrior, shite at ranged combat. Came across a dragon and realised I could cheese the fight with ranged. So I had to strip off all my armour and stand there for something like 20 real world minutes plinking away with some random bow I was planning to sell when I got back to town.

I loved Neverwinter Nights, The whole thing with Arabeth got 12 years old me in the feels. Made me want to actually play D&D tabletop

I'm playing the original campaign currently, and one thing is bugging me.
Is there any use for the raise-dead/resurrection spells in the game? Dead companions are revived instantly with the recall stone, and you can't revive yourself.
It doesn't work on NPCs either. I tried to use it in Linu's second loyalty mission, where we're tasked with retrieving her dead adventurer lover's journal. After finding the body in a cave I wanted to revive him instead.
Alas "This object cannot be resurrected."

I remember getting NWN2 back when I was a kid. I had no idea what do to and I got bored of the game pretty quickly. I've tried playing it again recently and it's really engrossing. Although it's FAR from perfect (Lack of Polish, Dumb companion AI, Cliched story) The fun combat, Likable characters, Cool quests and the fantastic character creator make up for it.

I only played NWN 2, but I plan on playing through both when my gaming schedule clears up.

I think NWN1 was my first real MMORPG type experience.
I used to be an admin/DM on a couple of servers.
I even coded some PWs as well. IT was a LOT of fun.
I did buy NWN:EE, which I keep on intending to convert my PW to at some stage.

NWN was the first PC game I played. I had only played console games because, at that time, I never had a PC in college (too poor LOL) and then I was too busy (and too poor!) in med school. But, when I was a resident (again, still poor and little time...) I saw ads for NWN in gaming magazines (remember those?!) and wanted to play SO BAD! So, I researched and built my first PC for the sole purpose of playing NWN. Really funny now to think about the components I used... So antiquated now.

Yeah I definitely remember both the original and Neverwinter Nights 2. They actually made a MMO a few years back (maybe 2013 time?) called "Neverwinter". It was terrible.
I only had 56k during the original's lifespan, so I never really was able to consistently dabble with the online community. Was great to step into after playing games like Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale.
