My vote goes to Pathfinder: Kingmaker despite the shaky and bugged launch. It being an Indie game makes me more forgiving compared to games from the likes of Bethesda. But I also enjoyed Kingdom Come and Pillars of Eternity II.

I'm with you on this one. Was a bit skeptical at first, but after learning the mechanics it was refreshing. Haven't played any of the DLC yet. But on the whole the story and combat mechanics made me want to keep going.Originally posted by Cyber View PostProbably Kingdom Come: Deliverance for me. It definitely has its issues, but I think it's the game I had the most fun with.

I've been thinking about picking that one up. How are the story and characters, dialogue, etc?Originally posted by Cyber View PostProbably Kingdom Come: Deliverance for me. It definitely has its issues, but I think it's the game I had the most fun with.

The story is simple but good, the dialogues are realistic, not all decisions are made speaking. The important thing of the game are the mechanics, it is not a hack and slash, it is a realistic game, the combat is one by one, it simulates the way in which real combat is fought in the middle ages, in a short distance you use a morning star if the enemy has a metal armor, if he has a leather armor you will prefer a sword to penetrate. Archery is more difficult, it will take hours until you learn to aim at distance, an arrow in the eye and the enemy will fall, if you hit the armor you lose an arrow. If you do not sleep you faint, the same if you do not eat, you can not heal in the middle of a fight. Maybe you want to make a potion, you have to learn to read, get the recipe, cook the ingredients by hand step by step as if it were a cooking simulator.

They have RPG elements, and lord knows with the grinding required to get past some of the areas that are blocked off until you reach a certain point, it's more of an RPG than any previous AC game. It's more of a open world action title with RPG elements, though I guess that most open world games have to have RPG elements, or else no one would be interested enough to play them.

Divinity Original Sin 2, Definitive Edition. Loved re-experiencing that game, full of free improvements new quests and stories. Man its an epic game and I don't think I'll ever stop playing it, great story, fun combat, not too mentally stressful. Rides all the fine lines well.

Feels strange to say Assassins Creed was my favorite RPG of this year. Loved the franchise and played every game of it but never considered it rpg until origins. It has all the elements of a rpg, an open world, main story side story, impactfull decisions and most importantly LOOT WHORING.

In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very unhappy and has widely been seen as a bad move.
