The best RPG of 2018

Not only my favorite RPG but my GOTY 2018 overall is Dragon Quest XI.

I don't own a Switch sadly (saving up for one now) so I did not get to play Octopath Traveler, but Dragon Quest XI is without a doubt my favorite RPG of the year, if not my game of the year. I haven't enjoyed a Dragon Quest Game that much for probably over a decade at this point.

Octopath is a bit heavy on the grinding, but the combat was very interesting and the 8 stories were far darker than I expected. I just wish the stories linked up better.

Dragon Quest XI was amazing. Not my favorite in the series(that would be V), but definitely a top 5 Dragon Quest game. I would have loved to get the 3DS version as well.

AC odyssey just has a huge world to explore, and fun quests and activities. And it has a decent story, the game is similar to the witcher 3 in a lot of ways.
