For me it will always be FF7, It's not the best FF I have played, but it most certainly is my favourite.

I'm inclined to agree with this.Originally posted by Vanitas Remnant View PostFor me it will always be FF7, It's not the best FF I have played, but it most certainly is my favourite.
I absolutely love FF7 and have some extremely fond memories of playing it. I also adored FF9, and in third place I'd probably put FF6, wasn't a fan of 8 and after 10 I haven't really liked any of the games.

Hard list.
Final Fantasy Tactics is the best Final Fantasy.
4 is my all time favorite in the base series.
6
9
12 (I loved the battle system for some reason)
the rest were ok. I don't hate them, I just think they were mediocre in one way or another.
Except 8, fuck that games shitty mechanics. All monsters leveling with you is beyond horrible in an RPG without a really good reason.

It's almost always the first one you've played, and for the main series, it was 7 for me. 7 is still my favorite, though I love all of then except 13. But I do understand that it's mostly which one you pick up first. Though kefka was better than Sephiroth. *shots fired*

Logistically would be FFXIV. I have sunk so many hours into this game. Made multiple characters. Leveled up so many job classes. Recorded every single cutscene starting from when i first played in 2014 and continue to do so now. Love the story (Heavensward was the best arc). Love the characters. The gameplay is enjoyable and fun, and I approve of the duty finder cause I have way too busy a life IRL to roll a static.
If we're talking about non-MMO, single-player campaign I'd go with FFVIII. Game definitely has flaws, story's all over the place, and the draw system can die in a fire, but it left a pretty strong impression on me. I'm rather fond of the characters, the setting, and the "let's roll with it" story pacing. First, you're in school, then you're fighting a mechanical spider, then you're trying to help a town get independence, then you're fighting a zombie president, then you're assassinating a witch and so on and so forth... I never really had an opportunity to get bored storywise. I also enjoyed the small bonus bits from replayability when I discovered alternate scenes purely by accident, and others by changing up who I put in the party.

FFX.
I'd played many of the prior FF games on NES, SNES, and PS. And then, the first time I actually heard voice acting in a FF game, I lost it. Literally... I lost many, many hours playing through that game. The video cutscenes were gorgeous. Music great. I liked the skill system. And, Lulu is still one of my most favorite characters of all time!
After that, it's very hard to say. Of course, FF1 was probably the 2nd game I ever played (after Zelda), and then FFVII was simply awesome. But, probably FF Tactics is my #2 game.
