My all time favourite is still tactics advance , I played that one to absolute death. For mainline I have to give it to 9.

Glad to know I am not the only one who loves Tactics Advance.
I loved farming Viera to train them to Assassins. Nothing survives.

FFT is kind of the same way -- you can come up with some incredibly broken combinations, but it takes research and a little legwork.

Overall I liked FF8, even the plot, except for one thing I want to bring up: it has *by far* the stupidest plot twist I've ever seen in a story. I'm talking about the "we were all best friends but we forgot" random plot twist. Groannnnnn. I kind of wish the Rinoa is Ultimecia theory was true and was actually in the game, too, because Ultimecia was a pretty out of nowhere and meaningless final boss.

I definitely see where you're coming from, the plot twist you mention is the other major factor that put me off in honesty.

I actually really liked Triple Triad though, I played through the game a few times just to collect all the cards I liked that one aspect so much.

FF8 is my favourite - I am a sucker for time travel and stories that unfold over long periods of time (Shoutout to the Robo forest scene in Chrono Trigger). I liked the mechanics even though I understand the problems with them. Casting aura on everyone and going to town ftw!

FF6 is next - First one I played. Great characters, story and mechanics. Kefka is one of the best villains in any game. What was the combo for Locke to make him hit 8 times? Genji glove and something else...been a while.

FF7 blew my mind when it came out. I played it enough to EZ mode Sephiroth and the weapons using W-Summon KotR -> Mime -> Mime -> AFK for an hour

FF9 was great though I only played it once.

Have never finished 10 but I should because everyone says it is one of the best.

FF13 is my guilty pleasure. Everything about it was complete trash except the combat system which I really liked. Taking down the Adamantoise without save-scumming using Death was a classic FF moment. I even played 13-2 (cringe..but time travel element was cool) and Lightning Returns because of it.

        Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

I played this game religiously, even more than other Final Fantasy titles.

          FFVII

Does this forum allow polls to be set up? It would have been cool to see how many votes each version got. I'm not going to count it up myself...

Nostalgia purposes, FFX. The most flashy, FFXV. The most timeless, FFVII. Although, FFXII is severely underrated despite it not being everyone.

As far as the single player games go I'd say the DS remake of FFIII as well as FFIX. However, I play XIV all the time and have more hours in it than any other game.
