Pretty good, I quite like the art style and the music is good, though I feel I heard it somewhere before.
Combat is pretty easy, just went mowing down enemies left and right with the Scythe. Do you have plans to increase the number of enemy actions, so they don't just stand in front of you slowing singing their arms?
About the story. What are your plans for it? I understand the main character goal, but I don't feel much incentive in following it. If your gameplay revolves around just collecting souls, you need to add a spin every once in a while in order to keep players engaged. Change levels and enemies, add more puzzles, give the story a twist middle way.

All in all, you have a pretty solid foundation, though. If you keep working on it, it will definitely be a good game.
If I was in Survivor, I wouldn't throw Aidy off a cliff to win immunity. I would just throw him off a cliff.

I like the halloween theme and design: color/UI/font/music. Very Medevil. The story bits are short and quirky so it works. Feels as if the attacks should have a kind of heaviness and "oomph" to 'em. Also, the shield-wielding skeletons should repose your hits. I would think about adding an overhead/spin attack (kinda like that bigger purple knight). Jack also needs an attack while sliding! Solid effort. Gl;hf.

The story is a bit more involved, it has to do with you gaining some sort of absolution, since you tricked the devil and you can't go to hell, but you can't go to heaven either, some NPCs along the way and maybe a few things you don't expect. Currently this is mostly to get a chunk of the meat into a playable state, 7 levels are planned with another 2 sets after release. This is just to get a feel from players on other aspects (running around and smashing things), I will be posting more as I progress though, so keep an eye out. Thanks for the kind words and feedback

Exactly the feel I was going for, the story bits are just that for now, bits of the story. I won't bore people, but there is a 'bit' more to it, I hope still interesting and not tiresome, since my goal is to make something you can pick up and have some lazy fun with, not get into a 3 day marathon. More attacks are planned for scythe as well as other weapons and I am also looking into combos and charges. Stay tuned, I will post my development here as well. Thanks for responding, it's really important at this state.

New build is up (0.3.5), if you have time checking it out would be very helpful, any feedback about the game would be very much appreciated.

                    itch.io: https://swearsoft.itch.io/jackmclantern

Filling out level 1 with more stuff, making adjustments to enemies and paths.

It's like a construction site here. I'm hoping to be finished in the next 2-3 iterations.

New things to expect in very next build?

                    - beer
                    - potions
                    - NPCs

                    and more

Thanks again for checking it out

It reminded me of a Rare game. And that's not a bad thing. Very cool!

Someone made a guide for playing Jack on Linux
                            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9i-IhiZQww

here is the link to the guide:
                            http://www.gamersonlinux.com/…/t…/jack-mclantern-guide.2782/
Jack will have an official Linux release, but for the time being this is awesome.

Looks good dude. Like other people said it has that kind of MediEvil look to it (Definitely not a bad thing) and looks like something Rare would do (also not bad). Would love to see how the combat evolved. Atmosphere is there too, which is great. Sort of reminds me of the Fandango video game as well... again, none of these are bad things. As of right now it just looks kind of slow and the combat is obviously not done yet, but I understand it's in Alpha so these don't really fault it at all. Looking forward to see what it's like when it's closer to done or at least when it is close to beta.
