The base Spiderman game is a great experience. Insomniac took the bland open world format that was present in Sunset Overdrive and used it to make the most vertical and fun traversal in an open world that I've played in a game. The combat flows perfectly and makes Arkham's fighting look slow and janky in comparison. Everything that made Spiderman fun to play, the combat and the traversal are present but the DLC does nothing new to expand a base that's honestly a bit shaky in having an open world that feels realistic. The story while I haven't played all of it is told in pretty traditional cutscences and isn't nearly as well executed as the main storyline with the sinister six. The DLC reskins the side activities in the main game and makes them feel even more grindy and frustrating. If you're dying to play more Spiderman the new game plus is always an option and if you must know the events that take place in the CTNS arc watching a let's play or reading a summary will be just as worthwhile and won't leave you 25 dollars poorer. The suits offered are pretty boring too and I'd never encourage people to buy content just to get some shiny skins. I'd say pass and save your money or spend it on a complete game that will undoubtedly offer more value for your money

Damn, I loved the main game... even had it runner up for my GOTY. I don't think the third portion of the DLC is out yet right? Hopefully they knock it out of the park with that. In the meantime I think I'll do a new game plus playthrough while I wait for a GOTY edition with everything bundled.

I finished both DLCs and I enjoy both. Spider-man still is my vote for GOTY.
Indeed "the DLC does nothing new to expand a base" but there are some small new things to enjoy, like the BlackCat cutscenes and duo combat+stealth with her on the 1st and the Hammerhead+waves boss battle on the 2nd. The gold medal at Speedball challenges was a little frustating and hard to get but not so bad.
