    Intro to the mexiverse guacamelee

Going into the massive games Library I wanted to give coverage to a indie game that came out in 2013 that I feel has both a large following but also hasn’t gotten the same love overall. Guacamelee is a metroidvania that is perfect blend of spicy meme love and silky smooth gameplay that I just had to make a topic review to give it its due. For starters this game is available for all major systems Xbox PS4 pc and switch. I played it on the switch and can honestly say it feels right at home and the switch. The story isn’t anything over the top it’s the standard guy must save girl from evil and prevent the end of the world. However it’s the journey that makes this game worth it all. Instead of generic sword weilder or gun toting badass you play as Luchador dubbed the chosen “Juan” (puns a plenty in this game) which a fresh new style of combat that mixed crazy punches and uppercuts with awesome and fun Lucha throws and pinball bouncing of enemies creating fun and awesome combos unlike any games that fall in this category before it. The puzzles are simple to outright challenging. The story will make you laugh and the puns will as well. The Easter eggs and references alone will make fans of all metroidvania games happy with joy just from the site of it. The cast of character offers both a mix of interesting to down right weird but all bring the universe to life in a fun and colorful experience. Even with a silent protagonist the supporting cast does enough to not only make the hero more alive but also the world around you. So much so you will want to come back to find everything you missed. However even with all the good there are some flaws and draw backs. The game is short so short you can beat it in 5 hours or less and there isn’t much danger of losing everything it’s challanging but it isn’t over the top crushing. If you like more dark souls type of difficulty then this isn’t the game for you. Also the costume system doesn’t offer much to the game play for my experience but some overall may give you a enhancement you may think will help you but the draw backs are worse or the skill didn’t help you at all. However there is still tons of replay to be had and another big thing is that there is multiplayer couch coop for you and up to 3 friends. So this game is also a very fun party game. Overall my final thoughts on the game.
guacamelee was a fun refreshing gem I missed out on back in 2013 but it defiantly still holds up today. The story and universe is fun. The art style while not over the top has a very fun and unique charm to it and even better it’s cheap and short and can be played on almost every system out there (vita included) this game is a must play for both causal and hardcore gamers alike and there’s a sequel as well if you find yourself being a fan. Guacamelee is amazing and a must-play, I've got it thinking the game was a simple brawler and finished dancing in harmony through crazy puzzles and challenges while doing insane combos. The couch co-op gameplay also deserves a metion because is guaranteed fun.
I can't explain why but the Guacamelle 2 didn't feel the same and I finished it without joy.
